If my friend gives me his terabyte hard drive and leaves a lot of his music, music videos, and movies does the WiiU have a media player I can play it on? Or should I have him clear the hard drive??
Thanks!!!

Thank you sir! After it formats would I be able to play music and videos? Appreciate the info. I just have a feeling 32GB is not going to be enough come two years down the road.

No, the Wii U will wipe everything and only the Wii U will be able to read what is on the HDD after that.
There is currently no way to view media files on the Wii U other than via the web browser and you cannot download anything from the browser either.

You better transfer the medias on a PC/Mac before then use it on your WiiU /captainobvious
