I'm no more of an anime lover than I am I barbeque lover. It's tough to compare "Ghost in the shell" to North Carolina pulled pork!
Honestly, it depends on what we're looking at. Burger King sold barbeque for a while. It was pretty lame. Likewise, there's good anime out there and bad.

I apologize if I sound dumb, but I've never seen the word "otaku"--so I looked it up. As far as I can tell, it means "really into something"
