If the download then gives you an error saying it can't connect, you have won.
Do not plug out the console however, as you may brick.
I notice from the above posts that there is a mis-conception.
The bricking occurs only when installing an update, not downloading.
Gaymer from this forum did it, and I have also done it, though not intentionally myself.
Once again, do not touch the console, only your modem/router.

No.one more question , is the update like say the ps3's as in when they bar gets half way it jumps to 100%?

Mine did. I think.and if i turn my router off will the update continue from where it stopped later?
It was hard to tell... I hadn't downloaded much of it and it kept disconnecting itself because my internet was spotty that day.
