Since it says on the wii u website that nearly all wii games can play on the wii u. Is there away to tell if a wii game will or will not play on the wii u?

If there are games that use the gamecube controller exclusively than it wont work for obvious reasons.

I have no knowledge of any game in particular though...

There is ONE game which doesn't work on the shop apparently, its mentioned in the latest news on there and they are working on fixing it.

Other than that, I think the comment is to cover themselves "just in case", such as games which use peripherals the Wii U might not support. In general, I doubt you will run into any problems.

Yup, it will work. i played the whole of it on my wii u. Funny though - i bought the game at launch and a year later only now i complete it on my wii u (not my wii) teehee ~

I have bought super mario galaxy 2 and new super mario bros both used.
They both worked wihout flaws.
