3 players Black OPS Online?

So I just got a third controller because I assumed that more than 2 players could player black ops online at one time (1 on the gamepad, and 2 on the tv). However, I can only seem to get 2 signed in at one time.

Can anyone confirm whether or not 3 or more can play simultaneously online?

I have a Pro Controller and love playing with one of my friends whenever he comes down. Lately I have been thinking about getting a 2nd Pro Controller so another buddy can play with us. Is this at all possible. Has Treyarch made this possibble yet? Will they? Anybody? Anybody?
