Metroid Prime Trilogy is wiimote only because the whole point of porting them was to enhance them with wii functionality. If you want "old school" then play the gamcube versions.

I bought them because they were a bundle package, i'm not going out and buying a wii and then buying each metroid game. So no, it's not the whole point.

Yes it is. I don't know why you're whining and complaining. They were rereleased on the Wii to take advantage of the Wii remotes pointing functionality and it works very well. If you don't like it then go play the GameCube versions.

buying all three separately is cheaper/same price these days anyway. Prime 3 had pretty much revolutionary controls for a shooter and they remade the other two to support those controls also. I am currently playing through Prime 2 one the Trilogy right now. My RA has the gamecube version, and after watching him play with that controller, I have no inclination to try it whatsoever.

The sole reason why I purchased the trilogy to begin with. Playing Prime 1&2 with Wii remote functionality put these games on a whole new level. I don't think I could go back and play the original versions on Gamecube. To each their own though.

That would really limit what they could do.

So having the OPTION of playing with normal controls in a 'limit'

Also don't care how much you like the stupid wii nunchuck, it's stupid to force people to play that way when they could have easily coded it a different controller.

Seriously?
It's a lot of effort to recode for a new controller.

Oh and incase you missed it,

They're Wii Games.

Which means a whole new release would be required.

No, they cant, they would have to redesign the entire game. If you cant learn a new way to play, then go on a sony console, they havent changed in decades.I enjoy doing things dual analogs could never dream of.Posted ImageSo how about you leave the ONLY THING IN THE ENTIRE MARKET THATS DIFFERENT ALONE, and just go play everything else thats stayed exactly the same for the past 20 years.

Absolute rubbish. Stop whining and complaining when you don't actually have a case. The control for Wii games was designed around the Wii remotes. If you don't like it go play games on another console.

Wait... You bought Wii games expecting them to magically support a new controller? And you expected that most of the games wouldn't only use the Wii's sole gimmick? I think you should've done a little googling first.

Yeah it'd be nice if there were more options but if you want to play Wii games, you need to get used to the controller. If not, trade them in and buy them on Gamecube. It's not a big deal. I don't even understand why you hate the nunchuk so much as it's the normal half of the Wiimote. If you really are about old school, perhaps you'll find it nostalgic using the Wiimote like a light gun arcade game.

This argument has been beaten to death in the past. Saving the time and effort of creating alternate control schemes for Wii games was a smart move. Forcing Wiimote and Nunchuk use on Wii U games is a dumb move. Bottom line.
Currently playing: AC 3, ZombiU, BLOPS 2, Nintendoland, NSMBU, Nano Assault Neo, Halo 4, Darksiders 2, and Far Cry 3

Yes, it would limit what they could do. Anything that didn't translate to a pro controller would have to be left out.

well it had gamecube controler if i remember right. but wiiU doesnt support that sooo. wiimote only.

requiring support will probly stick to wiimote for wii games and gamepad for wiiU games.

+ metroid prime is a FPS. wiimote and keyboard/mouse are by far the best controls for FPS games. normal controls are worse and NEED some help to compete with the other 2. and guess what, every game has help for them. normal controlers work best for other kinds of games.
