Yesterdays Nintendo Direct was awesome with some very big titles. Besides that Nintendo also mentioned that it was collaborating with more and more external studios to counter the increase in devtime. They also mentioned that some of those secret titles would be shown in future Nintendo Directs. Not e3 but Nintendo direct.

Although it is great that they showed us new upcoming stuff they surely will still need to have a killer E3 with NEW stuff. We all expect SSB, Mario, Mario Kart and Zelda now. We sure all want to see that stuff. But E3 would not be E3 without new revalations.

If Nintendo already showed us these big guns now, what greatness do they have in the works?

We still don't know Retro's new title. And the collaboration with external studios might give us an extra FZero too. Exciting times, i can't wait!

^Sounds great and all. But I'm scared that all this quality st E3 will be over shadowed by Microsoft and Sony's next gen console. :(

Highly unlikely. While people are excited about the new systems - Nintendo can still blow them out of the water. Plus all the people paying more attention to those than Nintendo, most likely don'y have any interest in Nintendo anyways.

We will probably see a few more Nintendo Directs leading up to E3 - most likely one dedicated to just the 3DS - I would anticipate another Wii U one as well to focus on 3rd party titles maybe. Whether they are exclusive or not.

They can't even get the gameboy and gbc pokemon games on the 3ds; I wouldn't expect to be playing Emerald again for a while.

Then you really misunderstand me, i am really happy right now and I don't need the game announcements now. Just wondering how much they must have in the works if they can give so much info montgs prior to e3 and then even mention that will even come more new title announcements before e3. No thurst just curiosity

I don't really trust Nintendo on this one anymore, with the whole showcasing of Kid Icarus (etc.) on 2 e3's.

Could be they will just show on e3 what they've already announced (and will announce) at Nintendo Direct.

No misunderstanding, more making jokes. :P

I believe they used said announcements in large part to smack the hordes of doubters.  Hardware sales slowed down heavily after early adoptions and they needed to convince people to invest in their hardware sooner rather than playing a wait-and-see versus Omni/720 later.  Why not use their greatest strength (1st party titles)?

Like you said, Retro's game is still at large; you can bet that will lower the boom at E3.  I'm sure there'll be at least a couple other 1st party heavy hitter announcements for far down the line, along with release dates and demos for the recent stuff.

Nintendo's smoking guns will be software.  I honestly don't think there'll be much contention with Sony/MS hardware. I'm sure Sony/MS hardware demos will showcase some incredible things, but their respective launch line-ups probably won't hold a candle to what The N will offer at those times.

All speculation anyhow; a lot can happen in 5 months.  I personally hope Nintendo unveils a brand new original franchise.

I'm kinda hoping that they announced so much stuff before E3 because they have limited time at E3 to announce all the games they have in the works.

Just Wishful thinking. It would be amazing if they came out with a fully packed E3 of mainly stuff we didn't already know about.

Y U READ THIS?...WHY IS THERE TEXT HERE? LOL WTF

I expect another Wii U focused Nintendo Direct in March. It will be boring though telling people about the March titles. If we're lucky we might get more information on some of the games announced last ND at the end.
