I still think it is interesting how they make a Super Mario game out of yarn!A part of me despise the "yarn" part of this future game. I'm probably just disappointed because I was more looking forward to something like SMW2: Yoshi's Island (SNES). I don't say that it'll be a bad game, I'm sure it won't but... I can't shake this bad feeling.

Putting that aside, I do agree that I am hoping that this new Yoshi game will be on the more "difficult" side. Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Story to an extent, does a good job at balancing the difficulty. Yoshi's Story is only difficult if you try to go for the harder level. For this game, yes I will be disappointed if it is easy because it will definitely alienate most of the players. Now, I am a little iffy by the art style because it still resembles Kirby's Epic Yarn. While I do understand the style is very lovely and perfectly suits Yoshi, I still hope for them to be very creative with the level designs. I still want it to be "fresh and new" and not just another "Yarn" game. Yoshi games have amazing level design, which is why I love Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Story.
....and why you see me with the current avatar.

I have to agree with you. I love Yoshi and I want to play this game but... i can't see myself spending $60 on a game like this. :/
I am the hero this forum needs, but not the one it deserves.

They should have have called it kirbys epic yawn, because thats all i did while playing it. The art style was great but it was way to easy and the levels didnt really very from one to the next. I dont like that they seem to just be doing a sequel with yoshi. Yosh needs his own modern game with its own unique style and gameplay. I dont understand why they just took a lame game and threw him in there.
They should call you the Epic Ninja Fail. LOL i'm joking

I can. The art style is just fine and I have no problem with it. As long as the game itself is not at the same level as Kirby"s Epic Yarn in terms of gameplay it should be fine. It needs to be closer to the regular Mario platform games. Regardless I will probably still buy it at full price.
First off the yarn was pretty cool the first time around.... but this is borderline lazy.... cant this guy think of something new.... does he have some freaky yarn fetish?

There is nothing lazy about it. By your logic the graphical style of most games would be lazy which is just silly. Its not like that art style has been done to death.

So they can just take unique art styles and slap them will nilly wherever they want?
So Gearbox could just take the next Samba De Amigo and make it borderlands art style?
Does this mean we are going to have to endure a yarn theme for every major Nintendo IP? "Zeldas Yarn Spinning Adventure"? "Metroid Yarn: Samus's Spool of Chaos"?
Lazy may not be the correct word to use but uncreative certainly applies
