well heres an example of how i can be emotionally attached to a game: (this one is about final fantasy 9)

*saves it right before the end so that way i can go back and collect the stuff he missed.

*wants to play the game over again but doesnt want to throw away everything i did on my last playthrough bc im still really really attached to my last save and characters.

*wants to go to that last save to try and "complete" the game.

*its been two or three years since i beat it, and now i dont know whats other things i want to get or do to complete it and has a very faint idea of what exactly is happening at that time around the world in the game except i know what im supposed to do.

*starts new game while still fretting about the last save. though still enjoying it.

*decides to go back and try to get the stuff i missed, only to realize that i really have no idea what im doing and what im want to get besides a few very small thing but would have no idea haw to get them or where to look in the slightest.

*while messing around a little in that saved game, the new game that i want to play is still in the back of my head making me have to decide whether to choose to start over or try to figure out what to do and anything else i want to find or accomplish.

*feels like if i continue my new game and beat it again, there would be no point to my last save except for time spent in the game.

*is slowly coming to the conclusion that its not so bad, tho still attached to those characters, i can beat the game in full this time, and still hold my first save as my main one.... i guess.

am i the only one who gets emotionally attached to certain games like this!?

i get attached to characters and story lines. this type of attachment happened to me a little while ago while playing ff13. i got stuck and had to back track like 5 or 6 hours game time to a previous save. (also happened to me in ff8 lol except i got to the end in the first save, but wasnt strong enough to beat the boss and i started over.

many time and almost every instance is with a final fantasy game, i can listen to the music and ill start tearing up T_T i get attached to anime series and characters as well.

please no spoilers.

Definetly. Still get nostalgic when I hear the hometown theme from Pokemon Pearl, even though it's not even 6 years old yet. It was my first one.

Normally I don't use spoilers, but seriously if anyone doesn't know that by now, they will never be playing the game anyways. It's pretty common gamer knowledge now a days.

I was under the impression that only Mig gave you all the feels.

I can never forget spider-man, I imagine the episode of the original cartoon when all the alternate universe versions showed up...that must of been a mad feel overload for you lol.

No, you're not. That's why it's hard for me to play Fire Emblem. I don't want to see them die because of a stupid mistake I made.

I reckon if you don't get emotionally attached to a game, then the game is worthless to you.

Games that are worthy to you will bring different sets of emotion to you. Competitive online multiplayer games such as shooters or fighters can bring out the passion to win, whereas long rpg types can entrance in fascinating or convoluted plotlines.

I reckon if you find a game unmemorable, you should just sell it or trade it for something that you're willing to give attention instead wasting time and energy.

Granted, everyone has different tastes in games.

Trophy Cards are classy too! LOLZIGZAGOON

Nah.

I defend the heck out of certain games when I feel something unwarranted about the game is posted. In recent times, telling me any Megami Tensei game besides Persona 3/4 sucks really irritates me.
