From Engadget

This morning's Nintendo Direct was all about the games, specifically those starring the likes of Luigi. But inbetween news of DLC updates, Nintendo's Bill Tritten made casual mention of Google Maps with Street View availability for North American Wii U owners. To recap, the service -- which is free-to-download right now on the eShop -- brings the GMaps you know and love to the widescreen and the GamePad, as well.

Yeah I am trying it. Is fun looking at the pre loaded locations. It is neat the way you move the gamepad around to face different directions and looks pretty good on my HDTV but after the newness of it wears off probably won't use it much.

All this doe is make me realize how much I want to travel even though I can't. I really like it though I can see myself using it every now and then. I really like that you can actually go into some buildings.

Good news, something new to play with but I'm getting tired of not getting any of these here in the UK. We're still waiting for TVii, which I could understand as we have different stations, but now we have to wait for this which has no regional differences.

And it is a real nice experience. Try Vignacastrisi italy and then go to the nearest shore streets. Really nice!

If only you could go inside the Ubisoft headquarters... You would see me kicking a lot of people in the nuts.

I'll download this on the weekend, looks like a nice little app you can just sit down and relax with. I'm kinda embarrassed to admit that I've never been outside of Florida, so this will be a good chance to see the sights of pretty much everywhere else in the world.

I find the Wii Street U app very cool. It's like Google Earth, but more advanced... specially made for the U's gPad.

I guess you haven't actually looked on the e-shop then as it was released in the UK the same time as the US. I'm in the UK and downloaded it on my Wii U.

Its cool , wish it was google earth instead since naviggating a 3d globe would be easier and you could control googleearths flight sim mode with the gamepad but instead we got a wiiu version of google maps

I honestly dont see the point in this. The gamepad isnt portable so why would you need google maps? I guess you could plan your journey before you leve the house but still seems pointless.
