A few quick Xenoblade questions

Allright so I got Xenoblade a few months ago but because of college work I hadn't had much time to play it but now I am pretty deep into the story.
1. Do characters who are not out fighting with you level up?
2. Is there a way to speed up auto attacks, it takes to long for my liking.
3. How do you improve your relationship between characters? (I wanna see more heart to hearts)

Panorama view to be used in other games?

After not seeing panorama view launched pre installed with the wii u, I can't help to hope that they have introduced this into the next zelda/ mario/ pokemon snap game. This could be like how Mario 128 was built into pikmin, I guess. Anyways I'm pretty tired so I'm not gunna add any more text to this before i say anything stupid. XD

ZombiU character slowly turns into a zombie?

Whilst watching the ZombiU trailer from the conference a few days ago I noticed the blackening of the veins which seems to be the main symptom of turning.

I hope this is not the case as it would seem like a pointless fight, unless you can neutralize it when you get back to the safe house which then would put an extra bit of pressure on the gamer. It might be better to be featured on the hard mode thingy that you unlock afterwards.
