Ok... First off, Nintendo doesn't confirm anything of this sort. This isn't even a confirm-able thing; It's just something that happens.im sorry in advance because im about about to sound like an A$$. did nintendo confirm that the next-gen multiplatform titles will use Wii U as base console. its hard for me to imagine that Nintendo going from a company that didnt get multiplatform titles(Wii im looking at you) to a company that developers use as the base to build their games on. you have to remember ps1 sold 100 million consoles... there is a reason developers wanted to use PS2 as their base console. saying all of that if nintendo pulls it off good on them.
(First and a half: DS gets many MANY third-party games; It's the Wii, not Nintendo.)
Secondly, as stated in Hyawatta's post, the Wii didn't get muliplats because it was too much weaker than the other consoles.
Thirdly, the Wii has sold around same amount that the the PS1 had shipped when the PS2 came out (~80 M).
So... Uhh.... Yeah. Nice post Hyawatta
