I'm not really a fan of apps, but I think Wii U should at least get Netflix, a drawing app (as shown last year at E3), Facebook, Twitter, and video chat.
For third party games, it doesn't really matter to me. As long as the Wii U is getting support, it's all good.
Now, first party games? Ignoring the obvious Mario Kart and Super Mario:

-Kid Icarus
-Metroid Prime 4 w/ online multiplayer
-Metroid Prime Trilogy re-released with Motion+ and U Pad control options
-New Hack n' Slash IP
-Pokemon Stadium 3
-Wind Waker HD w/ Motion+
