I doubt that it would go much beyond November. They need a period of time where they can sell a lot of them for Christmas. Less than a month isn't enough.
There were rumours of not being able to manufacture the gamepads quick enough, so they might delay in europe, if that were the case they would have no choice but to delay regardless of how it would effect sales. I do however doubt that the rumor are true as a company as big as nintendo shouldn't be messing up with manufacturing times.
