#206293 Sega Smash Bros? Would you like to see one?

Posted by LaserSWE on 12 May 2013 - 01:12 AM

I bet that could turn out as a awesome game. They have some great content to build upon, just look at Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. That game makes me think that Nintendo should make Mario Kart a "Nintendo-universe" racer as well and not only build it upon the Mario Bros-series.

#171958 Amazing Spider Man Wii U March 5th

Posted by LaserSWE on 16 February 2013 - 01:11 AM

Wait, Activision are doing a WiiU game! i thought they didn't think it was worth it?

Well, im guessing that you are referring to Bobby Koticks comment on disappointing sales? Even though that Activision is basicly the one publisher that has shown the most support with third-party content for the platform so far (together with Warner Bros). They have Skylanders Giants, Skylanders Swap Force, Call of Duty Black Ops II, 007 Legends, The Amazing Spider-Man, Angry Birds Trilogy, Cabelas Dangerous Hunts 2013, Nova, Rapala Pro Bass Fishing, The Walking Dead, Transformers Prime and WipeOut 3 announced/released so far. Thats more then any other publisher.

Also in the statement from Kotick the point wasnt to say that "it isnt worth it" but "We're going to have to figure out how to take advantage of the unique capabilities of new hardware, and that requires new skills and investment in tools, and technology and engines"

As with Watch Dogs i am guessing that we will see very few platform-exclusive games this generation due to high development costs. We are most likely to see development as within personal computers where engines are made to be less and more demanding. Like Watch Dogs can look a lot better on Xbox 3, PC and Playstation 4 but still be released on Wii U, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.

Wiiii another port. That's going to..flop! We need new games to get more gamers interested. This should be £20, not £40.

Well, WE dont need to get more gamers interested. Nintendo do. What WE need to do is to show that Wii U owners not only are willing to buy New Super Mario Bros. U. This is a consumer-driven market. If we dont buy third-party games, there wont be any third-party games. Thats how easy it is.

(And there is nothing unique about the situation for Wii U and how it has turned out for other platforms. It took almost 2 years before Playstation 2 got games. When Xbox arrived it had goddamn Blood Wake and a port of Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2. What did Wii have? Far Cry Vengeance and Red Steel? Xbox 360 lived on PS2-ports for almost a year and on Playstation 3 the only third-party games we got early on was the likes of Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End, Spider-Man 3 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance. Game development takes time and most companies arent willing to put the effort or money in until their is a steady userbase as well as consumers showing interest)

#111331 The Backloggery

Have tried to GET IT TOGETHER at that site several times but my backloggery is just too much for a puny human to handle.

#110993 What is your most anticipated download title?

Posted by LaserSWE on 21 September 2012 - 09:58 AM

Trine 2: Directors Cut and The Cave

#110859 Warriors Orochi dev on Wii U: CPU is weak GPU stronger than ps360

Posted by LaserSWE on 21 September 2012 - 12:34 AM

I mostly think that this is because it being a new platform and that developers have not really gotten to know it yet, and that ways to go around this will be found (but probably not by Koei, lol). But maybe we will have some framerate problems in slacky-ported multiplatform-titles and early third-party games.
I still find the statement promising as "a thousand enemies on the screen" games are not what attracts me and instead I see opportunities for great looking regular games.
Imagine what graphically skilled developers such as Retro Studios will be able to do with the console. Believe!

#110545 RARE WARE

Posted by LaserSWE on 20 September 2012 - 01:15 PM

The Rare of today is not even the same Rare as back then so I really cant see what they could possibly bring to Nintendo that Nintendo cant offer themselves from far superior studios (such as Retro Studios).

But if we toy around with the idea that Rare would be the same studio as back then I actually would love another Starfox Adventures. Thats my favorite Rare-game and one of my favorite games of all time.

#110521 Sega announces Demon Tribe

Posted by LaserSWE on 20 September 2012 - 12:00 PM

The project previously known as Project Omega has been unveiled as Demon Tribe
See the website here http://demon-tribe.com/

Even though no platforms has been mentioned officially the platforms Wii U, PS Vita and PSP are mentioned in the sites source-code)
My guess, based on the platforms, is that this will be a eShop-game.

The game is being developed by Blit Software (Jet Set Radio HD)

No other details has yet been unveiled about the game.

#110347 Gta V on Wii U ?

Posted by LaserSWE on 20 September 2012 - 12:55 AM

I think the U has allready proved itself as it has allready sold out in pre orders

Its not about Nintendo proving that there is a market for Wii U. Its about the consumers proving that there is a market for third-party core-titles on Wii U.

#110330 Games it seems like we won't be getting and should

Posted by LaserSWE on 19 September 2012 - 11:58 PM

Well, only because its possible to put these games on WiiU doesnt make the companies interested. They have to see if they will earn money on the effort on starting to develop these games for WiiU as well. What we as consumers can do is to make our voices heard in two ways 1) Official forums 2) Which Games We Actually Buy (Not on the Used-Market). Want Ubi Soft to continue support WiiU with exclusive experiences? Buy Rayman Legends, Rabbids Land and ZombiU.

What has to be said about the examples made here in the thread, such as Dead or Alive 5, is that Nintendo is actually financing and publishing Ninja Gaiden 3: Razors Edge so it isnt like Tecmo Koei decided for themselves that "Oh, yeah, WiiU!"

Buy WiiU. Buy Third-Party Games.

See what happens.

(Main problem with Nintendo platforms since N64 has always been that it is Nintendos own games that sell. The others? Not so much)

#109582 Confirmed: No online multiplayer for ZombiU

Posted by LaserSWE on 18 September 2012 - 12:17 PM

This game will be similiar to the Demons Souls/Dark Souls both in terms of difficulty and Multiplayer-experience (except for the offline-multiplayer of course).
Players will be able to help eachother out by leaving messages and hints. This is a survival horror game. Not a co-operative action game like Left 4 Dead.
Im incredibly happy with that.

#109385 Gta V on Wii U ?

Posted by LaserSWE on 17 September 2012 - 10:34 PM

I bet we wont see GTA V on WiiU.

#109040 Capcom has more games beyond MH3U in developmenr

Posted by LaserSWE on 17 September 2012 - 10:09 AM

Problably a bunch of multiplatform-games. Since Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition is one of the most sold games on Wii, I would be guessing that Capcom are looking into putting Resident Evil 6 on WiiU. I know it has been denied by Capcom already but that was before. And well, thats what publishers do when journalists asks about not yet announced games.

#108627 Is Battlefield 3 still possible?

Posted by LaserSWE on 16 September 2012 - 11:38 AM

If Black Ops 2 sells well, i bet EA would want a piece of that cookie as well.

#108519 Possible TGS Game announcements for the Wii U?

Posted by LaserSWE on 16 September 2012 - 08:11 AM

Perhaps a new Nintendo Direct will be posted with some news, who knows..
Either way i would bet on several new Wii U announcements from third party publishers.
