So, I'm hoping others read this and definitely hold onto both if this happens to them. Thanks again for all of your help and I'll post what happens.
UPDATE:
I called back today after Nintendo said they wanted me to mail them my receipt and then they would refund my $100. Well, this obviously seemed liked a ridiculous idea because I am still waiting to return the system. Long story short, I called back with my case number today and asked the girl if there is anything she can do that doesn't involve me mailing back the receipt and waiting 2 weeks. She put me on hold and I was like "oh no...I'm gonna be on hold forever." But, she came back on the line in under a minute and refunded the $100 back to my card. Just an FYI for anyone else who experiences the same issue. I also have an 800 number that gets right through to Senior Support so no hold times!!!
