Nintendo's Response (Letter) to having no compressed 5.1 support

04 December 2012 - 02:32 PM

Hello,

Thanks for sharing your comments with us. I'm sorry to hear that you have been experiencing issues with the new Wii U console. While we don't have any information about why certain formats were chosen regarding surround sound capabilities, I'll make sure that what you said about this will be forwarded. That way, your feedback will be heard. While I can't guarantee that we'll make the type of changes you suggested, we do take all feedback into consideration.

You can be sure that Nintendo is constantly at work developing new and exciting product and game ideas. Keep checking our website's "What's New" section (http://www.nintendo.com/whatsnew) for the latest information and announcements.

Sincerely,

X
Nintendo of America Inc.

I strongly urge all who are affected to do the same using contact us from the main Nintendo website. Thank You

Consumers deserve to know Wii U doesn't support compressed 5.1.

The moderators are burying the truth here, taking post's and moving them into old threads to bury the truth about this fact that customers deserve to know before they buy a Wii U.

And that NO optical headset will give them surround sound at all.

And that when the day comes when they implement HDMI into headsets that everyone will need a new Tv with a "special" HDMI compatible audio port for headsets.

Also for a next gen console no compressed 5.1 is a big Ol OMG WTFudge!

Now watch the moderators try to bury this by putting it in another old thread.

When will Nintendo add compressed 5.1 audio support?

01 December 2012 - 10:24 AM

This is my question and I am hoping this thread won't get spammed with the smart comments of nintendo fans that feel this isn't necessary so for all those people send me $399 dollars so I can upgrade my fully capable audio setup and have to buy new speakers because my gaming ones with stereo plugs can't be wired into the reciever ports.

The fact being nintendo decided to not allow ANY TYPE OF COMPRESSED 5.1!!!!!!

Why the sudden leap and bound nintendo alot of people don't feel the need to buy all new HDMI pass through recievers.

HDMI SUPPORTS DOLBY 5.1 WHY NO DOLBY NINTENDO?!?!?!

Gamers have been playing HD games since before the wii using their current 5.1 capable audio setups. I think it's completely unacceptable that they didn't even accomodate for their new console to support Dolby 5.1. HDMI is even capable of transmitting that format! Why didn't they even add support for that format? Thats weird for real, just gotta be video games now eh! Right on man. GET REAL NINTENDO YOU DISSAPOINT ME GREATLY!

For those who will post justifying their decision to not even allow DOLBY 5.1 your wrong!
