USB voice chat? Game pad Jack size?

19 December 2012 - 12:43 AM

Does wii u support USB voice chat from something like a turtle beach headset? What size is the head phone Jack on the GamePad? I'm asking because my turtle beach has USB for the mic or it had a jack that fits the Xbox 360 controller which I think is smaller than the wii u game pad which is what 3.5mm?

Also if I have the mic from my headset plugged into the game pad with an adapter will the wii u stop playing audio over hdmi? I basically want to plug in the dedicated mic from my surround sound into the wii u and be able to get the game audio from my receiver the headset is plugged into. Just like it works with my 360

Made a NES cartridge External Hdd for my wii U! largePics!

So got bored and remembered seeing those pics of the externals hdds you can buy that are made from a SNES or NES cart. I had a spare hdd out of my old PS3 I was going to use on the wii U so I decided to give it a go myself :) The only cartridge I had that I didn't mind messing up was Rad Racer. It was that of Jeopardy that I got free and I couldn't stand the thought of seeing that label each time I showed someone the drive lol. This was easier than I thought because the drive was very thing but it also worked with a thicker old 80gb drive I had also but was more tight. I also had three different enclosures laying around and I picked the one I have right now because if I decide to use the drive with something else later it has firewire and stuff and it also has a plug for external power so I can safely use it with my Wii U when I get it for Christmas. To trim the inside of the case I simply used a bottom of the line Dremel with a drill bit I had installed in it already lol. I used the PCB board from the external enclosure and just put it on the drive and did a test fit. After trimming the cartridge if fit perfectly with no movement! It's not very professional looking but I like it :) What do you guys think?

Sorry for the large pics.Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

Great budget surround setup I found for us optical guys :)

Yeah we are all mad because there is no optical out for our old 5.1 surround systems. BUT I have ordered this and I think it's a great deal for any of you with a little extra money to spend to get a system with 4 HDMI inputs and be able to keep enjoying surround sound :) http://www.amazon.co...ils_o00_s00_i00 I was going to just buy a new receiver but almost every single one was the wrong ohm rating to work with my speakers and my subwoofer is passive so no upgrading :(

So it's odd seeing this many systems jsut sitting on shelves.

So when I bought my Wii U the day before Thanksgiving my local walmart had 3 deluxe systems. Went back on black Friday to pick up some 360 and ps3 games on sale and the two systems that were left after I bought mine were still sitting there. Then tonight at the same walmart there were about 8-10 consoles mostly basics just sitting in the case. I couldn't find a wii or 360 to save my life at launch. I don't think this issues is the systems fault, I think it's marketing. I think to many people assume it's a add on for the wii or something. I was playing my ps vita at work one night and someone asked if it was the new Wii U?!? Seriously?!?!
