please help with remotes

I have synced 2 new wii u remotes but when playing Mario u the remotes will not connect. Any suggestions? It will let me play with an old wii remote.

I've synced the remotes but the will not stay connected. Tried everything in troubleshooting and still can not play game with controller just console . Any help would be appreciated . Thanks!
