For me, one of the best things about MK8 is that it sounds like they've returned to the game's roots a bit. By this, I mean, it sounds like they've rebalanced the game in favor of driving skill over random luck, something that I think has been a bit of a problem since MK64. The fact that you can now avoid the blue shell with the horn is something that I'm very happy about, as I hate blue shells! Apparently online is smooth too, which is great.
