For aussies looking to buy a Wii U! the basic model is $50 RRP off which means you can get it for the same price as the people in the US. The deluxe model doesn't have as much of a discount as the basic but still $30 off. Not only do you get a cheaper console but...

Great deal! So you could get the basic + tekken tag tournament 2 for $340.

#138783 NintendoLand DLC

for a pokemon attraction I was thinking of a hot-seat style pokemon trading card where you don't see the other players cards by passing them the gamepad when it's their turn.

#138779 Why was my drawing deleted by an admin?

Posted by ianh05 on 26 November 2012 - 08:29 PM in Wii U Games and Software

perhaps someone who doesn't know DBZ thought the drawing was of a girl due to the long hair and reported it.

Urban Champion. Go around the plaza trying to find ways to kill things because it sucks so much. Multiplayer attraction.

what sucks?

#138311 NintendoLand DLC

What future attractions do you want to see in Nintendoland? keep in mind they are most likely only going to be based on Nintendo games. Here's a couple to get the list started:

1. Duck Hunt - The classic NES light gun shooting game.
*Solo attraction.
*Use the gamepad as a scope and shoot clay ducks.
*Stamps could include - Quick shot (speed clearing a level) and sharpshooter (100% accuracy on a level).
*Should feature the laughing dog.

2. Excitebike - Classic NES racing game.
*Competitive attraction.
*Players 2-5 control the racers with the Wiimotes.
*Player 1 creates the track using the gamepad.
*Players 2-5 have 1 life and lose it upon crashing.
*Player 1 wins if no one finishes the race.

I'll try and keep this post updated with everyone's ideas.

#138276 Gamester81 Reviews the Wii U

Posted by ianh05 on 25 November 2012 - 09:56 PM in Wii U Hardware

They are probably just bored of Nintendo.

they don't like the console because it's from Nintendo? that's bias, so it's still harsh.

Whoa really? Phew, i have been kind of scared of buying one because of that update.
Is there a source that can prove this please :)

http://aussie-gamer....d-in-background

"You see, the Wii U System Update is not 5GB for a start – it’s more like 1.2GB as confirmed by many who have since watched their internet bandwidth counters tick over while downloading the file. The 5GB confusion comes from the fact that the Wii U Operating System (dubbed by some ‘WiiOS’) takes up around 5GB of memory on the built in hard drive. What this means is even if you don’t run the update, your hard drive will have 5GB used up for the system software.
Further, Mr. Bigshot need not be so impatient in future. The “Day One Update” can be downloaded in the background.

When you first set up your WiFi settings on the Wii U, the console finds an update to download and asks if you wish to continue to download. You then have two options; “Yes” and “Cancel”. Hitting “Cancel” will return you to complete the system settings and will load up the Home Menu as normal, leaving you free to play your games as you wish."

#137702 How do I use a USB keyboard on the Wii U?

Posted by ianh05 on 24 November 2012 - 09:59 PM in Wii U Hardware

touch screen is fine, it's better then having to pay for a usb keyboard.

That was a little harsh. It seems like they weren't even nintendo fans anyway.

He's been collecting many consoles and games for many years including NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube and Wii. I subbed to his channel because I thought I could get good honest reviews without bias towards any system, turns out I was wrong... ever since this other guy showed up he seems to be different.

Pretty harsh review. I've been subbed to his channel for awhile now and he seemed like a trustworthy source for reviews until they said the update was 5gb, it was just an updated wii and called the gamepad gimmicky.

He's a game collector and has one of the biggest collections which includes many rare and retro systems.

#137272 Digital Downloads should be cheaper, retail more expensive.

Posted by ianh05 on 24 November 2012 - 02:27 AM in Wii U Games and Software

the pros and cons between physical and digital balance each other out, if anything retail copies should be cheaper seeing as you can scratch the disc and you pay to drive to the shop.

#137192 Wii U Wishlist

Posted by ianh05 on 23 November 2012 - 10:24 PM in Wii U Games and Software

My personal top 5 games I want to see:

1. Pokemon (3D/HD RPG with all pokemon, gym leaders and regions).
2. WWE series (with all features).
3. A superhero game (MMO, multi-player/online features or single player with a create-a-superhero/supervillain feature).
4. Revival of Jade Cocoon (with merging system for the first game and loads more minions etc.)
5. Watch Dogs.

#135973 Need help with getting "Star Player" on Nintendo Land

Posted by ianh05 on 22 November 2012 - 03:15 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I'm not sure but it might have something to do with how fast you win or something like that.

#135898 To all NSMBU owners

Posted by ianh05 on 21 November 2012 - 10:03 PM in Wii U Games and Software

people usually tell you the average minimum time it takes to complete, if you take your time and enjoy the game instead of rushing through you will get more out of it.

#135889 List of games that can be played completely on the Wii U pad

Posted by ianh05 on 21 November 2012 - 09:37 PM in Wii U Games and Software

the only games you need the gamepad and TV for are the ones that use special interaction between both screens (some of the nintendoland games and ZombiU for example)

#135888 IGN gives ME3 on Wii U a 9.5/10

Posted by ianh05 on 21 November 2012 - 09:33 PM in Wii U Games and Software

It means that IGN liked the game. Just because a game has some technical hicups doesn't mean it can't be 9.5 material.

it's a dodgey port of a good game, a lot buggier from what I've been reading so the score should be at least somewhat lower then the other versions of the game.

#135858 Warchamp7 going for nintendoland mastery!

Posted by ianh05 on 21 November 2012 - 08:54 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Is this the same warchamp from avo? Cause if so that makes it even more cool. (I don't think it would be tbh)

From the comments on his youtube page I would say so.

EDIT:

http://steamcommunity.com/id/Warchamp7 = http://www.twitch.tv/warchamp7

Yes he is

Please explain? from what I've been reading it has a lot of problems.

#135410 About 13 hours of single player nintendoland footage!

Posted by ianh05 on 21 November 2012 - 10:22 AM in Wii U Games and Software

you should judge for yourself, loads of footage here for you to look at and that's only the single player part from his stream and people consider the multi-player side of the game to be thee best bit.

#135365 ZombiU 2 possible only if ZombiU sells well

Posted by ianh05 on 21 November 2012 - 09:30 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I'm gonna be honest here.

ZombiU looks good, but in the same time it looks like crap. '
I haven't played it yet so this is just what i think.

I love the horror aspects to it but it got some flaws from the look of it.
The graphics are crappy and the online is supposed to be bad. I also don't like how its so obvious where to go. They should have made it more freely.
What i don't get is why they didn't have co-op campaign. That would have added so much more hype into it.

But i'm still getting it. And if the first game turn up to be good, you bet there will be a second installment to the series ;)

graphics aren't that bad, it has no online (except the tag mechanic and leaderboards) nor should it, obvious where to go? have you played old-school survival horror games like resident evil? it's all about giving you no space and sending you down creepy corridors. Co-op survival horror? so you can have someone watching your back? no thanks, these games are meant to be single player and I'm tired of the whole "everything needs to be online" nonsense.

#135218 Nintendo Land Unlockables

but some people might play the game once and think that's all there is, I think this info needs to be out there as much as possible.

#135204 Bowling Game for the Wii U

Posted by ianh05 on 21 November 2012 - 01:16 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Urrrrrggggggg uninteresting sports party games, how about grabbing some friends and actually going Bowling.

My brother and I used to go bowling twice a week but it's not cheap so we stopped and are waiting for a good bowling game, Wii bowling was fun when we had it here though.

#135175 Nintendo Land Unlockables

Posted by ianh05 on 20 November 2012 - 11:25 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Metroid blast has 5-10 bonus missions from mastering all solo levels IIRC. DKCC has more stages then you think, when you beat the blue stage you go through the door back to red and it's a lot harder with parts missing etc. :)
