I want to begin by asking your opinion on what matter of actions I should take.

 

Once the Zelda: Windwaker HD was announced I immediately went in to preorder. I am a Zelda junkie and always do so. I own the custom 3DS, Skyward Sword Bundle and DSLite and actually use them pretty hardcore. The day that Gamestop announced the limited edition Windwaker, I immediately went to upgrade my regular version. Which was the same as a regular WiiU game at $60. I didnt want the Custom WiiU because it didnt seem too much worth it for the same system I already have. So I preordered the limited edition game and the waiting had started. I went and paid it all off two weeks ago when I had all the funds and all i had to do was pick it up on the 4th of October. Incidentally enough I wasnt in the area of gamestop yesterday the 4th and was out all day with work from 8 to 5 and school from 6 to 10. I had to wait until the 5th to actually get it. Worried though I called on the 4th and asked them what the holding policy on preoder games were. They said all stores are universal and hold games for 48 hours. He even went as far as to tell me he was looking at my copy now and said it will be here tomorrow when I decide to come in and pick it up.

 

So today I go in to get it and they cant find it. a half hour passes and they are still looking for it. Finally they look up in the transactions and yes indeed they sold it. THEY SOLD MY F@#&ING COPY OF A LIMITED EDITION PREORDER THAT I SPECIFICALLY CALLED THE DAY BEFORE TO ASSURE I WOULD'NT FORFEIT THE COPY.

 

I am beyond livid. I cancelled all my other prorders for Pokemon X, Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, and COD: Ghosts. He said there are only three stores in America with an extra copy that hasn't been picked up yet. He has to wait for the end of tonight before he can try to get it mailed to them. But he said it isn't looking good. He gave me the customer service number and their store number. I really don't know what coarse of action to do.

 

I dont know if this belongs in this section or not, but i would just really like someones output on what steps I should take on this measure. I don't imagine this is a normal situation with a limited edition game, maybe running out of a regular version. But it should never be allowed to happen for a limited edition. IE a limited edition that sold out in two days. Anyway please let me know your opinions on my horrible misfortune.

 

I loved it! It didn't sell to well, But I thought it was a great game none the less. I also thought it had a cool re-spawning concept. having to go back to where you last died to get your bag. Also the real time inventory. You could get attacked while going through your inventory so you really felt like if you were living in that scenario. Wish there was more achievements or customization, but overall it still didn't take back from the experience. I would highly recommend this game even though it got "okay" reviews.

What games can you play with the wii u pro controller? I'm getting one and getting it custom painted from a friend... Well, what games can you play with it?

Yup Runner 2 still locks up on me

Same for me, I installed the update yesterday and played Runner 2 last night. Had to pull the plug to shut it off. Every time I do this I feel like I am pulling a knife out of a baby. Not good... Not good at all... On a Brighter Side. Runner 2 is AMAZING!

I have a Pro Controller and love playing with one of my friends whenever he comes down. Lately I have been thinking about getting a 2nd Pro Controller so another buddy can play with us. Is this at all possible. Has Treyarch made this possibble yet? Will they? Anybody? Anybody?

Couldn't agree more. Considering Sony and Microsoft will be announcing new consoles, Nintendo has to hold on to some very crazy information to last at E3. I am really excited to see all that they unveil.

You make a valid point, but IMO MiiVerse is innovative and fresh as far as Online gaming communities go. The control options with the Wii U are far better, but game dependent in many situations.

As far as digital downloads and content management, they haven't done too bad for themselves, and I expect they'll continue to grow the offerings and let the platform evolve like Microsoft has. I subbed to PS+ for two years, and it was worthless. Still worthless IMO. Live is great but developing, nurturing, and evolving an online community takes time and resources, I don't see any evidence to suggest Nintendo isn't making an effort to make things better.

You may consider your arguments realistic but I don't see them as such. You are, in fact, holding Nintendo to a different standard. A strong launch isn't strong if it's Nintendo, innovative controls and experiences aren't innovative if it is Nintendo. Nintendo has three months to do something many journalists and fanboys will happily give Sony or Microsoft years to accomplish. Complete rubbish. You keep saying that Wii U "may" be "slightly" more powerful than PS360 but that conversation isn't anywhere near concluded. Most developers still don't have the foggiest idea of what this hardware is capable of. All we know for sure is that with little to no time with final hardware and running code optimized for a completely different hardware environment, the Wii U can handle unoptimized X360 code. We can see from recent announcements game environments that absolutely murder the best of what the 360 was able to offer, but only time with final code on games built for this system will tell.

Also, Live, even for subscribers is littered with advertisements, which to me kills any user experience I might have had. The only thing I've ever found Live useful for was multiplayer. Their social features have gone completely unused except for trying it out after they released. PS+ was even more useless for me, because it wasn't necessary for online play and the only reason I subscribed was for the free games initially. I've used MiiVerse more in the first two months of owning the Wii U than I did in 6 years of Live as far as social features are concerned.

NNID's are new and I expect that system to evolve as well.

I don't agree. The 360 and PS3 whilst maybe not as powerful as the Wii U provide overall a far better gaming experience. Apart from the Gamepad second screen the Wii U doesn't provide anything new. The online service on the Xbox is far more sophisticated. The PS3 has Playstation Plus. The online stores and account system as well as how content is tied to the account is far better on the PS3 and Xbox. Transferring content from one console to another is far easier on both platforms. The media playback capability is far better on both then the Wii U. The PS3 is region free. Do I need to go on. Nintendo has a lot to learn about the user experience.

If you are talking about overall gaming experience that is invalid. Gaming experience is solely based on that of the user. If you want to talk about the features that make your gaming experience great on other consoles, that is all good and well but that is just "YOUR" experience. Loyalty lies where you have had the best gaming experience. And for a dedicated forum to the Wii U, You are among a large community that would defend that till Nintendo really screws up, but considering this is still 4 months old and everything is still amazing. Let us grow without your comparisons because that is not the argument and will never be. The Wii U offers an experience not like that of previous. Go to Miiverse and see for yourself. Just cause it doesn't evolve the same way as Sony or Microsoft doesn't destroy the overall experience.

Going through the topics and all I see, pretty much, is a bunch of threads on how much of a disappointment the Wii U is. Whether it is not selling next to all the previous competitors models or lack of 3rd party support or not being a "next-gen model", the argument is getting a bit old and overzealous. I saw this video last week that pretty much summed up my thoughts on the matter.



Never count Nintendo out. If you bought a Wii U for the fact of being an ass clown and complain all day, that is what you get. You can't buy a new console and expect to have everything upon release. What happened to the days where you grow with your system. The ties with whatever console you had made you the gamer you are. I have been avid on Nintendo all my life, so call me bias. But Nintendo has always come through for me and I don't see this failing.

The truth is, you need only one NES Gamepad to play 2-Player Super Mario Bros. You take turns as Mario and Luigi as you run the course.
