#297849 New ninty 3ds and 3ds xl

Posted by FlamingFury on 02 September 2014 - 07:20 PM in General Gaming

So far I have resisted upgrading my broken launch 3DS.

I can no longer resist.

Anyone know if it will be possible to transfer games you already own?

Yes, there is a system transfer function that completely transfers all you games, saves, photos and other data from one 3DS to another.

#294481 If you were in charge on Nintendo...

I think most talk about how it didn't have games like Pikmin, Donkey Kong, 3D Mario, Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros, Metroid, Zelda at launch. I mean I personally didn't care, I thought it had a pretty good launch games to get you started, most launch titles arn't that great for any system, though Wii did really good. We did get a few meh ports, but if done right was a stepping stone for more titles to follow, sadly that didn't happen. People just had high expectations and they would not work with Nintendo's dev cycle.

Yeah. I suppose if you look at it from that angle...

Still 3 million is pretty good.

And Nintendoland and NSMBU and ZombiU were enough to tide me over for awhile.

#294480 Captain Toad Delayed

Posted by FlamingFury on 30 July 2014 - 01:45 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Well. I'm upset.

There's a slight chance it could still make it to Australia though. Doubt it, but one can always hope. Looks like I'll be getting LittleBigPlanet 3 for Christmas instead.

You're right, didn't realize launch was that successful. :)

Thanks. It's a pet peeve of mine when people say that the Wii U had a horrible launch and was slow from the start. I agree with everything else in your posts though.

I don't think anyone in this thread would deny the Wii U launch was not successful.

I'll deny that quite happily. I'd say the Wii U had a nice launch. It arrived in November and by December it had already sold 3 million units (Excuse the use of IGN, it was the first thing I could find). 3 million in two months is solid, at least in my opinion.

It was the period after launch - you know, most of 2013, that killed the Wii U's momentum. That was where things went wrong.

#292652 Petition to get Bungie and Activision to release Destiny on the WiiU

The petition won't work, espically not this close to release.

#292335 Miyamoto does not like the term "open world" when describing Zelda U

Posted by FlamingFury on 04 July 2014 - 04:01 AM in Wii U Games and Software

From what I gathered from reading the full article, it sounds to me that Miyamoto does not like using the term open world to describe any game at all whether it be Zelda or Skyrim.

But it seems that he admits that this game world is so big it can only be considered open world.

#291395 Clarification required, potential sadness.

They claimed they were working on a firmware update to unlock 2 player gamepads before the control was released.

They said they would do that after they utilised the NFC chip which they are only just getting around to now, with Amiibo.

#291335 Captain Toad Appreciation Thread

Posted by FlamingFury on 23 June 2014 - 12:04 PM in Wii U Games and Software

For anyone wondering, I think that all the games in the Digital Event have been confirmed to be retail releases, (yes, even Mario Maker).

I think that Captain Toad will Offer somewhere between 60-200 levels and maybe a different game-mode or two to spice things up and make it worth the retail release.

#291333 You know when you're alone on a Saturday Night...

Thanks guys.

I've always wanted to play SNES, but none of my older cousins had one. They did have an N64 and a NES though, and I've played a lot of those. Especially Banjo-Kazooie.

...and you feel a great emptiness deep inside and you can tell that something is missing and you know that you'll never be truly happy until it's there?

Well, worry no more, because I'm here to fill that emptiness!

Hello good people of Earth, and other such nations (sorry, been watching  too much Futurama) FlamingFury here broadcasting live from Australia, except, you know, with out the broadcasting and the live parts. Don't worry though, I'm not dead.

I'm currently unemployed (occupational hazard of being a high-school student), but I'm looking to rectify that in the near future. As all the smart people can already tell, I'm still in school which means I didn't grow up with Mario or Zelda ever being 'the most popular title' ala Ocarina of Time and Super Mario Bros., I've never played a SNES or a Gamecube or a Virtual Boy (thank God), but I've given every other console Nintendo's had a spin.

I've owned my Wii U since launch and have been a stalwart supporter of Nintendo ever since they won me over from Sony, with the greatness that was Mario Galaxy. Rather recently, (2011) I discovered true gaming when I played, and fell in love with, the Legend of Zelda.

Anyway, this website seems nice, (really digging the aesthetics), and I can't wait to contribute to this community.
