We can't say that for sure though. Microsoft has enough cash in their pockets to sell top of the line PC-level hardware at $300 if they so pleased. And it'd be a smart business move, considering a large part of what the Wii U will have going for it in the casual audience's eyes is the fact that it'll probably be sold at a low price point.

That year head start will really help though, plus they might make a price cut after the first year. I think the Wii U is going to sell big though as well as the 720. PS4 will fall behind I think because it doesn't have that mass family appeal, and will probably be a bagillion dollars.

Document was removed. Maybe it was legit. If it is 6x the 360 then that will make the Wii U look like a toy with Iwata saying half the Wii U power is being used on current gen ports, which puts the Wii U at 2x the 360.

I don't see how the 720 can be 6x the performance of the 360 and cost only $299 especially with Kinect 2 and a tablet like controller.

For that price, it should be just a tad powerful than the Wii U I suppose (assuming it doesn't have a tabletcontroller/kinect coming with it for that price), which also most likely is going to cost 300.

I think possibly a customised APU (Sony is apparently having the CPU and 7970 on the same die), this is going with my theory again that the rumours of an X(4-6)70 GPU is being used. The previous rumours from trusted insiders said 2 GPUs, I was confused at the time too but when that rumour of one of the GPUs being a mid range, it would make sense.

Hybrid Crossfire is what I think is being used.

The one thing we don't know is how much of a loss, if any, is Microsoft is selling this at. 299 is Wii U territory, if it is being subsidised then clearly there is a major power difference between the Wii U and the 720.

Could you number crunch a few numbers too? What are how many SPUs are in the following GPUs:

No way to be true... 7970 is more than 3 tflops 3.7 i think? And it will explode, plus the cost alone is extreme, NO way for a console.. So dont believe this rumor, I ve seen it too and I laughed. Expect 7750-7770- 7850- 7870...
Sony and microsoft pointing in 2 tflops parts.. I believe that... so this is the gpus that they will choose from. Also they are affordable..

I may dont like the idea of it, to have a 10 y life cicle. . its to much...

6870 = 1120
6670 = 480
7770 = 640
7970 = 2048

I bet ps4 and xbox720, will play between 7750-7770-7850-7870... the 78xx series performs a bit better than 6850-6870 gpus and they consume less power.. much less power... Ok xbox will use an IBM cpu, that means wii U will get a catted down version of new engines.. though.. That means, xbox will use the same cpu as wii U does... 3 cores 6 threads or 4 cores 8 threads... thats why they speak about 8 cores... or 6.. (the video is 4 months ago, but still they said a 3 core or 4 core ibm (6 or 8 threads) and a powerful amd gpu)

differently, they may use an amd.. but I trust this guys on the video... They are mostly for PC, but they release information's about console to.. Also the news about xbox are bad... THEY FORCE EVERYBODY, to use internet connection, like steam does... Meaning, you have to register online the games so u will not be able to sell them after.

You guys are all crunching all these numbers and i don't understand any of it, i just play games and have no clue how they work (ive just assumed its magic ) so is the Xbox 720 going to be more, less or equal to the power of the Wii U? and in the video that Orion posted they said the Xbox will use a crappy video card, is it better or worse than what Nintendo plans on using?

if xbox is actually a net box.. nintendo is not doomed.. Now if microsoft and sony play safe.. And they dont force u to have internet connection with their consoles, then its not doomed again, but dont expect hardcore gaming on wii U. lol hehehehehe It will end up wii U casual machine again

All hardcore gamers (not nintendo hardcore, but hardcore in general) would prefer to pay an extra 100$ for a better hardware, than that. But still, we dont know exact the horse power of the wii U gpu and wiU cpu.. But from what I ve seen and read till now, I dont expect much...

I was hopping for a 16 rops and 640 SPUs for wii U gpu.. but now.. I believe is going to be between 150-320 spus.. The funny part is, that the leaked xbox documents, refer to wii U as a 249 dollar system.. that means 199 pounds as amazon listed it!!!

Still I find it hard to believe that wii U is 1.5x from 360 in graphics.. 360 got 8 rops / 46 spus..!! and wii U will probably have 8 rops / 150-320... (not much for today games, but ok...) I believe is going to be up to 2-2.5x better. I am realistic or I want to be.

I believe this document is a bit old and they were just speculating on the price of the system, although 250 is entirely possible. Also I have no idea what you're talking about with your techy gixmo magic talk... lol

That video came out when a leak was released saying that both PSNext and NextBox would not support used games and that aswell as when it leaked about the 6670 being used as the GPU for that console.

It's very old rumours (pre GTX 680, when everyone thought GK104 was going to be the mid range). I am pretty sure they've said they won't kill of used games. According to The TechSource, they said consoles used high end PC GPUs at the time (I was 13, I really didn't know anything about PC gaming). So assuming that next they will be unveiled and at least will be released, it wouldn't be absured to have a 7970 or any current high end GPU.

I know people don't like Pachter but this Pach Attack really does just say why they wouldn't and those rumours would be farse.
