I find it hard to believe it won't be at launch. Nintendo knows the NSMB series is pretty much their biggest money maker.
I also really have to wonder just what will be available on launch day if not NSMBU, since we already know Pikmin 3 won't be..

Nintendo might be worried about all the questions they got at e3 asking "Don't you think two NSMB titles is such a short span of time risks them cannibalising each other's sales?"

Comic-con isn't all about comics you know, it's really just an entertainment expo since it also has TV/Videogame booths, panels, etc.funny how a console makes it into a comic convention (or is there some secret wording here)

It's really up in the air about New Super Mario Bros. U's release date. Reggie sort of confirmed it at the E3 conference, but at the same time did not. Some are saying it will release at launch, some are not. It's best to wait until the Fall where Nintendo confirms the release date, price and launch titles/accessories before we start getting our hopes up for it being a launch title.
