Actually it will probably be the X-Station 420 from MicroSony.I mean who wants to buy a Playbox 720 4 from SonySoft.
Microsony is gonna come to Nintendo and say:
We're teaming up Ninty and together we will rule the console market!
And Nintendo will have this face and say:
Please MicroSony. We guarentee that when the Wii U is the best selling in Videogame history you're little X-Station 420 is gonna be nothing but a paperweight and you'll run out of business and be forced to be our UNPAID INTERNS.

why would this happen? Microsoft and sony are rivals and are not based on the same country, Microsoft don't sell any xbox's in Japan, therefore teaming up would hurt Japanese sales allot for Sony.

This is a good point. Sony are already losing ground in Japan thanks to poor sales of the Vita and massive sales of the 3DS by comparison, I really really doubt they'd want the same to happen on the console side by sacrificing the PlayStation brand.

I don't know why Microsoft would do anything with Sony. If anyone drops out of the console race, though unlikely, its Sony.

Just because there are a few benefit for teaming up doesn't mean they will. I think it would only end in disaster for the two companies...

I highly doubt it. SONY and Microsoft both have their own separate agendas that they will not be able to accomplish properly if they were to band together. Both want to make the most income for themselves and being in competition kind of helps.

Unless the gaming industry crashes, don't expect any companies to be teaming up. It's a cool idea, but it's all about the money. They'll have to split the profits, so unless teaming up will result in more than doubling profit than they would as an individual, don't expect it to happen.

Sony makes a good partner... and Microsoft has ethics..

But regardless, Sony is a good technology partner, and Microsoft is an expert at software and design. Seeing as both are doing okay... but not great, teaming up would be an interesting move... and also simplify the gaming market. I like simple... BUT NOT APPLE... @#$%^&*((*&^%$#@#$%^&*(^&*(
