Will there be an equivalent of the Xbox Gamer-Tag for WiiU? I really hope so. The online system for the Wii was really dumb. It bugged me that you had a different name for every game instead of one general username for your account.

Its gonna have a new revised online friend system incorporating Miiverse, you wont have to deal with the hassle of friend codes anymore i can almost garauntee that. But Nintendo hasnt yet announced how it will work so this is my mere opinion

I don't know anymore. Reggie said no FC. Iwata said a revised version of FC. I just do not know. I'm hoping a system that incorporates the 3DS profiles...

It's been said "a single username", but there were some vague points made about FCs, but not having a different one per game. Who knows besides the big wigs themselves. It'd be nice if they shared a bit more before opening preorders for it. Sadly, stuff like that makes or breaks for few people. :/

I'm predicting that "simplified" FC's are a combination of letters and numbers (8 character limit). For example: nf83gfb4

It will be friendcode based(noa bigwig e3 2012), 12 users per console(nintendo tvii), profiles shown to others and yourself as a mii (all miiverse footage).

I'm not racking my brain on it, I'm sure we will know soon. It's not just us in the dark, I was reading an interview with the Tekken director and he said Nintendo didn't even give them info on How the online system or online play will work

I think it'll be like the 3DS's and honestly I hope so. Or even like Steam. I don't mind entering numbers if it buys pretty, even changeable display names.
