#17410 Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance speculation!

Posted by Reaper Pin on 29 July 2011 - 04:23 PM

So, you've all heard of Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance right? Well, I made this topic for all KH fans!
So, I've made some observations, you can all discuss it here!
Some things we know already-
New Allies Donald and Goofy wont be you your partners this time around! Do you have any idea of who they might be? Write about it here!
NEW ENEMIES?
you bet! Look at these 2 new emblems found on the Official Website

What do you think these could be? New enemies?
Randomly switching between Sora and Riku?
We know, this will happen, but how do you think the transition will occur?
Plot after the Mark of Mastery Exam?
We know that the MoME (Mark of Mastery Exam) is only a part of the game, but what do you think happens after it's over?
NEW WORLDS
This is possibly one of the most exiting news on the game, so do you think Toy Story will make it?
Discuss!

#14152 None of the big first parties at launch?

Posted by AMAC on 13 July 2011 - 03:08 AM

I'd love to see a big first party title at the Wii U's launch, but if there are enough quality 3rd party titles then I wouldn't be too upset. As long as there are some quality launch titles I'll be happy, regardless of who's developed them.

#7157 DSi makes a video

Posted by gamegal on 15 June 2011 - 01:52 PM

I entered an annual PSA (Public Service Announcement) contest to make a video about water conservation. My resources were very limited, so I ended up drawing my 58 second video with DSi's Flipnote Studio. I recorded the video, transferred the recording to a disc, and I WON the contest! Check out this link: http://usewaterwisel...ideowinners.cfm or
My school's got a prize of $600, and it's going towards the Academic Decathlon. Yay! <_<

#7684 A new evil

Posted by Elric on 16 June 2011 - 10:37 AM

*This is the story I am currently writing. Yes, another story*

Prolouge:

A tick of a clock. The boom of thunder. These were the only things that Bill Cross could hear, as he nervously drew on a sketch pad what looked like blueprints. It was 2 P.M, and it was pitch black outside except for the occasion of lightning for a split second. The only thing lighting the small living room of Bills house was a small lamp standing on a table beside the chair he was sitting in. Memories constantly haunted him. They flashed in and out of Bills head, taunting him constantly. His hands began to shake, and he shut his sketch book abruptly. Bill was a typical 59-year old man, who always had a set of problems bothering him. But the problem that Bill Cross had, was actually a unknown tragedy. A tragedy no one could ever forget. A tragedy no one could ever heal from.

The Blueprints that he had drawn and finally finished after a couple of weeks, were a solution to solve this "problem". A solution that could finally end all of his pain that he had suffered. Bill had built the blueprints. But the blueprints, were evil. The blueprints planned a sin so sinister that not even an kind man would ever forgive.

#10934 Waiting

Posted by Elric on 25 June 2011 - 07:49 PM

(if you like this poem, but have nothing to say bump up the reputation in the right corner )

Sitting and waiting
Waiting for nothingĀ
As nothing will await meĀ

On the curb I wait
Wait for somethingĀ

Some hope
Some kindnessĀ

And for a moment,
A brief moment
A flicker of hope is there waitingĀ

Then, I look behind me
And see the remains and ashes
The ashes of all that I ever was

The dead corpse of my memoriesĀ

I sit back down
WaitingĀ

Waiting for nothing

#12158 Final Fantasy Wii U

Posted by Epic Kirby on 03 July 2011 - 06:21 PM

Would like to see a new version integrating the Wii U Controller.

It would be good to have the option of viewing the stats, HP, MP etc on the Wii U controller and leave the TV for just the action.

#4761 (request) welcome to the island

Posted by Elric on 12 June 2011 - 01:06 PM

Welcome to the island
hope you enjoy your stay
after allĀ this is the place
where all the Yoshi play

you don't need to be scared
they will come to you
and then you will be paired

the places of your imagination
they will take you there
maybe someplace like a basin

you are in a whole different world
one with excitement and wonder
one you can definitely ponder

I hope you have funĀ as you travel
from the highland
to the coastland

So,
welcome to the island
hope you enjoy your stay
after all this the place
where all the yoshi play

#8397 Nintendo and Storytelling

Posted by Epic Kirby on 17 June 2011 - 03:36 PM

"Ende and Ceres who live in the Elysium kingdom on the continent known as Graecia. Ceres is chosen to sing at the kingdom's harvest festival, but monsters begin to attack when she goes to perform. Ende later finds her unconscious as the army comes to take her because she witnessed the beast. A merchant named Graiai helps the two escape into a tower. Later, they find out that Ceres has been cursed, and in order to lift it, Ende must use the Orichalcum Chain to obtain the flesh of the beasts that live in the tower."

Pandora's Tower is Nintendo, that looks like it might have an interesting story, I usually play Nintendo games for gameplay rather than for storytelling. Pokemon games have always had good stories, though

#6689 Let's talk Zelda Wii U

Posted by SonofMrPeanut on 15 June 2011 - 01:18 AM

For their premiere Wii U game, they need to have something as close to the look they gave @ E3 2011 as possible.

After that, though, I'd love to see them experiment again.  Quite frankly, I'd find having every Zelda game look like the E3 2011 video from now on would get to be very boring after a couple of games.

What needs to happen is we need to stop thinking of art styles in Zelda as "Realistic" and "Cel-Shaded."  While Wind Waker added some still fascinating diversity, it can't be the only alternative.

There are two looks I contemplated a little bit back, and I'd like to know if you think either would work and how.

1.  Surrealism

Some of the more famous examples are Persistence of Memory by Dali and L'Ange du Foyeur by Ernst, but surrealism isn't a style that's defined by an appearance but rather its content.  It must be an extraordinary view of that which is ordinary.

I found a slideshow on YouTube accompanying Badfinger's "Dear Angie," and it struck me how realistic some of these pictures can look while retaining their sense of fantasy.  Other times, a characterized appearance brought out a certain charm.  Imagine Epona riding through those woods and disappearing where there is no tree.  Imagine that floating planetoid with Hyrule Castle on top.  The possibilities are there.

Just take a look and see what I'm talking about.

Again, it doesn't have to look exactly like that either.  While this lends itself to the calmer side of a dreamlike atmosphere, they could also take it in a David Lynch direction Ć  la Twin Peaks.  If you've never watched the show and are or know someone who is subscribed to Netflix, watch it now.  Tell me you wouldn't be interested in seeing Link in weird situations like that.  Majora's Mask already handled that Expressionist tone, but I'd like to see them go full-force with it.

2.  This one is more akin to cel-shading, but this arts and crafts appearance could lend itself to a very interesting interpretation.

The Electric Bunnies Album Cover

Here's more.  I didn't want you all thinking this was the only idea right away, so I put it in a link.

The eyeball plant on the cover could be a Deku Baba.  Also, I could see those colored bumps with eyes being Sheikah Stones.

Again, what do you think of these ideas?  How could you see them working well in a Zelda game?

I look forward to seeing more from everyone else if they'll take the time to think of some ideas.

#6618 Let's talk Zelda Wii U

Posted by MetaMS on 14 June 2011 - 10:37 PM

OK so we know that Skyward Sword isn't coming to the Wii U as a launch title so hwat do you think Nintendo will make as the next Zelda game

First i want to say that i think it'll be about 2 more years until we see a new Zelda game because if i know Nintendo we won't see another console Zelda for awhile. So my question to you now is what kind of art style would you like this game to have? Personally i would like to see a TP art style as it appealed to me the most and it fits with the Wii U i take it you've all seen the demo.

If not here:

Next thing i want to ask is when should this game take place. I personally think it should be a sequel to Twilight Princess. I would like to know what happened to Midna and the Twili race.

Lastly i would like to show you all a picture. Im not sure if you've noticed this or not but i won't spoil the surprise and tell you about it.

Here's the Picture Posted Image

#8634 A Nintendo MMO

Posted by TheSparrow87 on 18 June 2011 - 04:07 AM

Somehow Mario and MMO don't go together for me. If they do make one it should be a new IP in my eyes and I don't see that happening.

The closest thing to an MMO we'll see would be something from Pokemon, as some1 mentioned playing with your MiiU (hopefully they'll have upgraded version of the Mii's), in similar style to Guild Wars, as in no monthly fee. You can form parties anywhere, not just in towns, but of course you have to chose which pokemon you want to bring before you leave. I'd like to see a bit more focus on some rpg elements as well, not just the pokemon leveling up but also the main character.
Players get to chose a town somewhere in the game as a starting point, their hometown, with their own house or apartment in order to save game space :P. Some of the more rare pokemon require you to be in a party ranging from 2-5 people in order to catch them, making them even more rare.
Things like pokemon attacks, pokeballs, potions n such show up on your uPad. You can use the touch screen to attack or use the mic to say which attack you want to use. Pokeballs can be thrown towards the tv like the shuriken demo and GRO weapon customisation. uPad can also become a Pokedex, hold the controller up to the screen to scan the pokemon...

Bit of a random collection of ideas but things just popped in my head when pokemon and MMo are said in the same sentence, even though im not the biggest fan, this is always where I thought the series would really shine.
