#38975 A New Challenger is Approaching!

AA B ->, right air, right air, dash, up smash, right air meteor smash... you're now apart of my roster. I'm sorry that was awful... but Welcome to the forums, I was playing as Captain Olimar by the way. Just so you can picture it in your head. We were on final destination and the difficulty was set to very easy. I hate being beaten by challengers then having to do the whole thing over again.

#38573 Should I get Kirby: Epic Yarn or Kirby: Returns to Dreamland or some other Wi...

Epic yarn if you wanna try kirby with a different flavour. It's definitely unique and pretty fun to play with a second player but it's not very traditional when it comes to the previous games. I'd go with Return to dream land and maybe pick up epic yarn in a bargin bin.

#37476 wii u hardware already a flop

Quick to make predictions aren't we? We haven't even seen much of what the WiiU can actually do in terms of power so why don't we wait and see? Also getting ports of games like Arkham city is kind of a good thing. It shows that 3rd parties might actually be a bit interested in the WiiU, hopefully they won't pull the same sort of crap they did with the 3DS and cancel or delay new projects they have planned for the system. If you're that worried the WiiU will be a flop and terrible you can hold out on buying it and wait and see the results. Or pass it up and get whatever Microsoft and Sony have to offer.

Also Consoles are all ways years behind the PC. The xbox and Ps3 were pretty much outdated themselves around launch. You want a top of the end gaming system you need a PC.

#35825 Monster Hunter for Wii U?

It seems like Nintendo has got something going on with Capcom so It's very likely that it will come to the WiiU.
Monster Hunter Tri was pretty good and I was able to finish the campaign but after that, the grinding for gear kinda burned me out.
Then when you realize you're only getting better gear to kill tougher monsters so that you can get better gear with no real end, it kinda wears me out. Really fun game though, the monsters were a lot of fun to fight and I think it'd be awesome if it came to the WiiU as I'll probably pick it up. Here's hoping we can brandish our Switch axes and hunt some monstrous game again.

#35128 Your favorite video game character?

Posted by Garolymar on 06 October 2011 - 12:18 AM

Hm... It really is hard to choose just one, there are so many greats but for the sake of this post I'll choose a character I've found quite interesting in terms of Nintendo characters anyways. This would be Captain Olimar, considering in game he never speaks a word you can learn quite a lot about the little Hocotatation guy from his journal entries after every day in Pikmin one, from what he says in the Pikipedia and his notes on the treasures. From what you can gather you can tell that he's a family man and he seems to miss them quite a bit on his journeys. He's pretty smart documenting all the various creatures of the Distant planet and analyzing their habits and traits. He's also able to swallow his fear and lead his army of Pikmin into even the most dangerous of caverns and is devastated whenever he loses an army of Pikmin due to his poor decision making.

He also seems to really enjoy doing his job although I think it has more to do with just being out in space then actually doing frigate work. His ship the Dolphin was his pride and joy and he was quite shocked when it was taken away.
Really there is so much I'd like to say about this character but I can't remember all the log entries...

I guess the main reason I like Olimar is because he is sort of an everyman, he doesn't have amazing jumping abilities or a sword or any weapon at all. Infact, without Pikmin, Olimar would've been dead before he could have even got his ship back off the ground but with some luck, the help of his little minions and the Will to see his family again he was able to escape from the Planet and save his company from bankruptcy while helping a extinct species flourish once again.

So yeah... Captain Olimar He's a cool guy and doesn't afraid of anything.
