#116914 EA being shady with FIFA13

Posted by AMAC on 12 October 2012 - 10:22 AM in General Gaming

The 3DS version has also been a major disappointment. Since getting it, I've found that the kit and roster updates are not working, meaning that I have effectively been left with a half finished game. I've tried contacting EA and was promised a response within 24 hours, but four days later I've still not heard back.

It's pretty clear that EA only care about the Xbox/PS3/PC when it comes to FIFA, and I doubt I'll be forking out £35 for FIFA Games in the future. I don't understand why they continue to put no effort into other consoles because from what I've heard, FIFA still sells pretty well on consoles like the Wii and Vita.

Edit: I've actually just read on another forum that the 3DS updates are now working, although apparently some lower-league teams still don't have official kits. Still, it's taken almost two weeks for the issue to be resolved.

#117149 canceled games chat

Locking this thread, I don't see much point in a thread that's full of screenshots without any proper discussion.

#118638 Let's Get Stupid: Le Forum Awards Edition (ft. Chaotix)

Posted by AMAC on 18 October 2012 - 12:00 AM in The Café

Personally, I don't have any issue with these awards, although I'm moving thread to the Cafe.

#119966 Career Thread

Posted by AMAC on 21 October 2012 - 10:38 AM in The Café

I'm going to be studying economics at uni next year (if everything goes to plan), so I'll probably end up with a career in finance or banking. It might not be the most interesting industry, but you can earn a lot from it. I'd also like to have some sort of job in Formula 1 for a few years after I graduate, but it probably wouldn't be a long term thing.

#122083 Recent Staff Changes

Posted by AMAC on 28 October 2012 - 12:58 AM in Site News and Feedback

As I'm sure some of you will have noticed by now, there have been a few changes to the moderating team recently. Firstly, Brian6330 is no longer a moderator as he resigned from the position a few weeks ago.

This, combined with the upcoming release of the Wii U, has meant that we felt there should be a couple of new mods. After discussing this with Andy and Joshua, we've decided to appoint both Mournblade and Crackkat as our new moderators. The two of them now have full moderator powers and able to give out warnings/punishments if they have to.

Congratulations guys, I, sure you'll both do a great job at moderating!

#122413 Is the Wii U Really a Graphical Jump Over the PS3 & 360?

Posted by AMAC on 29 October 2012 - 08:47 AM in Wii U Hardware

Locking at the request of the OP.

#124346 nasty nintendo rumor

Please don't bother creating threads about rumours with nothing to back them up. Locking.

#125280 Barack Obama re-elected.

Posted by AMAC on 06 November 2012 - 11:41 PM in The Café

I'm glad Obama won. He hasn't had the best four years, but I think a lot of America's problems have come as a result of George Bush's presidency which many have blamed Obama for. I think that America will be better off with a other four years of Obama and hopefully he'll be able to really get Obamacare going (I still don't see why so many are against having free healthcare) as well as fix the economy.

Please don't bother making pointless posts/threads just to access the Chat. Your posts will only be deleted and your post count modified.

#128404 Wii U and area 51

Posted by AMAC on 12 November 2012 - 11:35 PM in Wii U Hardware

I stopped reading this that when I saw the suggestion that Miyamoto is an alien. Locking, as I don't see any evidence to suggest that there could be any substance to this rumour.

#129044 The Forums Need Updating, Wii U Is Out Soon

Posted by AMAC on 13 November 2012 - 11:36 PM in Site News and Feedback

I'd just like to point out that there is an IP.Board app for mobile devices and any user who uses this site on their phone's browser should automatically be on the mobile version of the forum, so a specific app for this forum would be unnecessary.

Also, I don't see what getting rid of Wii U Go would achieve in terms of improving the forum. As far as I'm aware, Wii U Go has been around longer than the forum, so I don't see it disappearing at this time.

#129190 Official Thread for Sharing Gaming IDs

Posted by AMAC on 14 November 2012 - 11:24 AM in Competitions & Matchmaking

There was a thread like this before, but I don't know where it is, so I'll make this the new official thread for sharing gaming IDs. I've pinned it and ill also edit the title slightly.

#129191 We need this (please read this admins and mods)

Posted by AMAC on 14 November 2012 - 11:29 AM in Site News and Feedback

I think we should have a section of the site where we can meet and ask others if they want to be on their friend list for whatever games and systems the poster wants to play. And IDs and friendcodes can be exchanged through PM if they agree to play.

We do have a thread for this, which I've just made official:
http://thewiiu.com/topic/6088-official-thread-for-sharing-gaming-ids/

We can also have a separate thread that's just for Wii U IDs once it's released.

#130963 What the deal with Wii U Go?

Posted by AMAC on 16 November 2012 - 02:20 PM in Site News and Feedback

I don't know what the latest on Wii U Go is, but it's owned by Feld0 while Wii U Blog is run by David Turnbull, so the sites aren't actually connected. It's just that both sites are linked to this forum.

#130970 Official Nintendo Network ID Sharing Thread

Posted by AMAC on 16 November 2012 - 02:43 PM in General Gaming

So, the Wii U is almost here now, for some users at least, and I'm sure there'll be a few lucky users who get their console slightly early, so we now have an official thread for users who want to exchange their IDs. Feel free to post your ID once you have one, but please only post it once and try to avoid making any unnecessary posts that'll clutter up the thread.

This thread should only be used for exchanging IDs. If you want to arrange to play online with other users, please go here:
http://thewiiu.com/f...ns-matchmaking/

Nintendo Network ID Directory

I'm hoping to keep a record of everyone's ID here, and we'll try and update it as often as possible.

#130980 We need this (please read this admins and mods)

Posted by AMAC on 16 November 2012 - 03:07 PM in Site News and Feedback

I've now made a separate thread for NNIDs once the Wii U is released.

As for the idea of a matchmaking section, I'd be happy to create a sub-forum for it. How many people here would like one and actually use it enough to justify having one?

#131546 Welcome to the Competitons & Matchmaking section!

Posted by AMAC on 17 November 2012 - 02:05 PM in Competitions & Matchmaking

Sme of you guys have recently expressed interest in us having a matchmaking section here at Wii U Forums, so here it is! As the title suggests, this section can be used for online tournaments for any console or just general online gaming. This is a bit of an experiment, so if it doesn't get much use I'll take it down after a while.

Forum Guidelines

1) Please don't create threads to share any user information for any console/game. We have a specific thread for Nintendo Network IDs and another thread for all other user information that you should use for this.

2) If you want to play online with other users, then look to see if there is a thread for the game you want to play. If there isn't already a thread (which will be the case for now), the you can create a thread for that game.

3) If you're planning on setting up a competition for any game, then you can create a separate thread for it.

If you have any questions/comments/suggestions for this section then please post them here.

#131550 We need this (please read this admins and mods)

Posted by AMAC on 17 November 2012 - 02:10 PM in Site News and Feedback

Well, everyone seems to be in favour of this, so I've set up a Competions & Matchmaking sub-forum: http://thewiiu.com/f...ns-matchmaking/

#131899 Fave Movies Of This Year In Order, And Your Most Anticipated Of 2013

Posted by AMAC on 18 November 2012 - 03:09 AM in The Café

I'm not posting in a particular order, but these are the 2012 films that stood out for me:
- Skyfall
- The Dark Knight Rises
- The Amazing Spider-Man
- Avengers Assemble
- The Artist

#131921 Fave Movies Of This Year In Order, And Your Most Anticipated Of 2013

How good is Skyfall?

I thought it was very good. If you've enjoyed previous Bond films, then you should definitely try and see Skyfall.

#132003 Kicked from the chat for no reason

Posted by AMAC on 18 November 2012 - 06:09 AM in Site News and Feedback

Yeah, I think the limit before you get kicked is about thirty minutes. Locking.

#132462 What game should I get?

Posted by AMAC on 18 November 2012 - 01:27 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Your stupid. I meant gameplay. All the others are remakes!

I'm pretty sure the gameplay in NSMBU will be largely the same as previous games in the series and none of the games mentioned in the OP are remakes. Also, I'd appreciate it if you didn't call other users stupid.

#133606 Will we ever see a gay hero in a high production game?

Posted by AMAC on 19 November 2012 - 11:57 AM in General Gaming

I think that there will before openly gay characters in video games in the future, but I don't see the main hero of any game being openly gay anytime soon for two reasons. Firstly, the fact is that there are still a lot of homophobic people in the world, and the chances are that as a result of this, the sales of a game would suffer, particularly in certain areas which have strong views on homosexuality. Secondly, most people aren't gay, and I think a lot of straight people may find it harder to relate to an openly gay character, especially if sexuality was important in the game.

However, I think it will happen one day, and to be honest, although I'm straight, I wouldn't have any huge issues with playing as a gay character.

#134539 Wii U Hacked to Run Homebrew

Posted by AMAC on 20 November 2012 - 09:30 AM in Wii U Hardware

Locking the thread for the reasons that other users have mentioned, in addition to the fact that it's already started to go off-topic.

As for the whole reporting posts issue, we appreciate it when users take the time to send reports, saying publicly that you've reported someone doesn't achieve anything and can make you look like a bit of a snitch. You're better off just reporting and leaving it for us to deal with or politely pointing out that a user is breaking the rules.

#134541 Capu...

Locking this thread, as I don't see any point to it. Try and keep pointless threads like this to the forum games and Roleplay section.
