#136798 Will you share your Wii U at Thanksgiving?

Posted by backudog on 23 November 2012 - 10:32 AM in General Gaming

Hopefully will have mine by xmas, but as most of my family are OLD they think videogames are a waste of time, and i ought to grow up coz i play them (im only 38, dang it!), so they would not interested in playing, tbh i've seen how they treat most of thier stuff so even if they DID want a go they could feck right off!

#136365 Zombie U 2 wishlist....

Posted by backudog on 22 November 2012 - 01:54 PM in Wii U Games and Software

If those idea's arn't in the game already they are really good, does anybody know how big this game actually is?

well the disc's about 4 - 5 inches across if that helps :D no, seriously though, assuming you mean in Gigabytes then, the discs hold , what, 20 - 25 gb? i bet its 7 or 8 gb at a guess? based on nothing more than a random guess. that and most 360 games fit on a dvd (max 9 gb dual layer), if you meant in play time...no idea lol.

#136358 Wii U 'Has A Horrible, Slow CPU' Says Metro Last Light Dev

Posted by backudog on 22 November 2012 - 01:47 PM in Wii U Hardware

The issue is why are people comparing the Wii U to the PS3/X360, they should be comparing it to the PS4/X720 & the game engines that will run on those.

Nintendo MUST of known of the probably issues that could be caused by this CPU, so the actual question is why did Nintendo design the Wii U like this because for a small extra outlay on a more powerful CPU now it would have paid dividends in the long-term & maybe of extended the Wii U's life by a year or two.

Agreed. surely they must have tested the machine, in different configurations, whilst developing it? or possibly looked at what microsoft and sony had done in the 360 and ps3? saying that Ninty must know how to make consoles, they've been doing it long enough? they must know that one weak component can cause all sorts of woe to a system? but i suppose until we know what the actual specs are for the cpu etc, we don't know quite how weak it is / isn't?

#136346 Zombie U 2 wishlist....

Posted by backudog on 22 November 2012 - 01:37 PM in Wii U Games and Software

I realise that Zombie U isn't even out yet in some countries, here in the u.k. for example, but i was thinking about what i'd like to see in a possible sequel earlier today and thought i'd throw it open to you guys. what would you like to see (sensible answers if possible please......unless its REALLY funny! lol)

Heres a couple i thought of (as i mentioned i dont have the game yet, so if any of my ideas ARE in the game , yay!)

1. improved graphics. Bit of a no brainer really as it'd be a sequel, the devs would have figured out how to do more with the U's graphical cababilities.

2. multiple paths through levels? i keep seeing in vids the bit in the game where you go over a fence, fight a group of zombies then open / close a door that sets off an alarm? using that as an example, i thought it'd be good if you could have , maybe, found other ways in to the building, like a fire escape, through a broken window, or another entrance round back, so you didn't have to go over the fence, and could have avoided the zombies, you could've been sneaky like.

3. maybe set it in the countryside or similar? travelling from small town / village to small town / village, coming across farmhouses scattered about the countryside, sneaking across wide open zombie infested misty fields, dense woodlands (at night perhaps? moonlight shining through the tree tops, you ever been walking through woods at night? its creepy enough WITHOUT zombies!).

4. maybe make easy mode more like a FPS, for those people who STILL DON'T GET WHAT TYPE OF GAME ZOMBIE U IS!!

anywho, what are you guys thoughts?

#135887 ZombieU big twist?

Posted by backudog on 21 November 2012 - 09:30 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Ok, so its been said that ZombieU has a big plot twist in it, and i just wondered if anyone here has got to that part yet, and if so is it a good 'un? I DONT WANT ANYONE POSTING WHAT THE TWIST IS! I just want to know if its a good one or one you can see coming a mile off. DO NOT POST ANY SPOILERS, OR DESCRIPTIONS, JUST WHAT YOU THOUGHT OF IT PLEASE!!

#135378 ZombiU 2 possible only if ZombiU sells well

Posted by backudog on 21 November 2012 - 09:52 AM in Wii U Games and Software

How can ZombieU NOT be a success? Its the best game of the launch line up!......apart from Assassins creed, nintendoland, batman, mario,......erm..yeah..didn't really think this through did i?....anywho im sure it'll sell well enough to warrant a sequel! also this game is the reason i'm buying a U!

#132343 The Verge Wii U Review

Posted by backudog on 18 November 2012 - 11:44 AM in Wii U Hardware

Slightly dissapointing review, this one and a coupla others are starting to put little seeds of doubt in my mind about the U, not huge ones mind, i have still got it pre-ordered and got a space ready for it Posted Image  as you can see (top shelf on top of the sky+HD box guarded by thor, the doctor, an x-wing and an AT-ST lol).

#132314 Zombi U Reviews

Posted by backudog on 18 November 2012 - 11:18 AM in Wii U Game Reviews

Thats more like it! that review has put my mind at ease, what with that one and the Gamesmaster review, i can't wait to play it now! was strting to get a bit worried after seeing the lowish scores it had been getting from some places, but i've always trusted Gamesmaster mag so with thier review and now eurogamers, nuff said, bring on the 30th!!

#132290 Having fun?

Posted by backudog on 18 November 2012 - 11:03 AM in Wii U Hardware

I wouldn't know I don't get mine till the 30th as I'm in the UK, I'm just waiting for news on the specs.

the 30th still seems like a LOOOOONG way off doesn't it? lol, and i too am waiting for someone to post the specs, especially after reading some of the worrying things being posted around the place (not as powerful as we all thought, or as fast etc). After playing Borderlands 2 on my 360 and watching the god awful texture fade / pop in during the game, i pre-ordered a wii U  coz i hoped it would be noticably more powerful than 360 and ps3 so wouldn't have to put up with that sort of thing in me wii U games, and also for Zombie U (which is not getting terribly good reviews so far from what i've seen), i hope this isn't going to be a mistake? I'm still excited about getting the U, but all the negatives i've started seeing are taking the shine off it somewhat, i NEED to see true specs for the U, just to put my mind at ease.

#131804 WiiU GTA V?

Posted by backudog on 17 November 2012 - 09:22 PM in General Gaming

Don't forget ZombiU, Darksiders 2, AC3, etc, etc...

I dunno, really. Rockstar has a record of supporting quite a few consoles when it comes to their games, I see no reason why the Wii U would be an exception.

How the heck did i forget ZombieU?!? thats the reason im getting a wiiU!

#131801 Wii U

i haven't yet.....*sob*...not fair...*grumble*....almost 2 weeks to go....*mutter*..*mumble*...*snif*.....*stomps off to sit in the corner and sulk*...

#131800 WiiU GTA V?

Posted by backudog on 17 November 2012 - 09:16 PM in General Gaming

Nintendo doesn't like violent games as much. Plus they don't focus on graphics so the WiiU probably wouldn't be able to handle the game very well.

the wii u ninja gaiden game shows ninty are changing thier attitude to that kinda stuff? so maybe just maybe? as to graphics im pretty sure the U could do it proud.

#131798 Wii U eShop prices.

Posted by backudog on 17 November 2012 - 09:12 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Trine 2 = 20 quid? is that a good price? having an xbox360 at the moment, im used to using microsoft points and not real money, and can never remember how much they equate to? wonder if thats gonna be the standard pricing for games etc about 10 to 20 quid? on a bit of a tight budget, not so tight i cant buy a wii U but still.., so would really like cheap stuff, hope there will be some.

#131790 WiiU GTA V?

Posted by backudog on 17 November 2012 - 09:04 PM in General Gaming

IGN has posted an interview with Rockstar's Dan Houser about GTA V and although the highlighted sentence is not much it gave me a tiny glimmer of hope, at least its not a "aint gonna happen" type answer.

GTA V: Burning Questions Answered

Rockstar’s Dan Houser explains the ins and outs of the next great leap for the sandbox franchise.

GTA V is only confirmed for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Why not the PC, Wii U and so on?

Everything else is up for consideration. That's all I can give you. The main thing is we are not... we are a third-party publisher. We're not Nintendo, we're not Sony, we're not Microsoft. We love all of them in different ways. But we can do what we want wherever there's the appropriate business opportunity and chance to find a market. If that's on Apple we put something on Apple. Wherever it might be. I think that's the fun in what we do. We see ourselves as a content company that uses technology. We don't make it; we use it to make the most fun stuff.

#131782 Nintendo releases more info on what storage you can use

Posted by backudog on 17 November 2012 - 08:32 PM in Wii U Hardware

If i connect my newly bought BUFFALO HD-PV320U2/BK usb HDD , will that work ok via the usb? I've also got a small 5V mains powered usb hub (has 4 usb ports ) i could connect that to the U then connect my HDD to it, would that be a better option? that'd make my HDD mains powered (technically) right?

#131142 video game music cds..

Posted by backudog on 16 November 2012 - 09:17 PM in General Gaming

I just got hold of a couple of cd's (The Greatest videogame music Vol.1 + 2 performed by the london philharmonic orchestra) and am really liking them! They contain tracks from numerous games such as assasins creed, bioshock, COD,Halo, Final Fantasy and...erm..angry birds?!?  I have never really listened to this sort of thing before, i don't even have the soundtrack on when im playing games, prefer the ingame ambient background sounds etc, but was wondering if anyone else here buys / listens to these types of cd's and if so could recommend any good ones? I like the more epic, exciting sounding tracks, so guys n gals any suggestions?
