I wish we would get those awesome video game soundtracks the Japanese Club Nintendo gets.
I thought we would back when Club Nintendo America gave out the Ocarina of Time CD for first day buyers of the game.
I just finished playing Paper Mario Sticker Star and wouldn't mind a CD soundtrack for that.
That music is sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!
I appreciate your input. Nintendo needs to know that we count.

Like a dog you need to smack them in the nose and say "Stop It!".EXACTLY! i expect Wii U to get all the COD games next gen... but i dont consider them hardcore. GTA is the biggest game for nintendo to get right now. thats step 1 in my opinion... without that game Wii U cant consider itself 3rd party friendly.
It's not GTA5, but everything. They need to let everyone release games. If the sales are bad the publishers or developers can take the heat. Nintendo should not be the Nanny, let the freakin' consumers decide once again, just like the SNES when Nintendo was worth their weight in salt.
Nintendo needs the smack in the nose, and hard. They haven't understood gamers 100% in almost 20 years. Pretty Sad.
Dear Nintendo, why was the SNES/Super Famicom good? Because you made a console and then didn't meddle in it!
You meddled with everything after, and it failed because of your involvement. Your involvement drives consumers AWAY!

The best way that you can keep the Wii U a "Good Dog" is to not screw up. You know how to... not screw up? Don't get involved. You do not know best, you really don't.

When a foreign media such as a blu ray movie is inserted, the disc drive stops spinning once the console deems it unrecognized.
I'm sure Nintendo will address this with a firmware update ASAP. There is no need for the disc to be spinning until infinity like this.
For now I guess I would advise everyone to eject all discs when not in use to save from unnecessary wear and tear on the drive.
Since apparently we as consumers are the Beta testers, please contact Nintendo about this issue. They of course can't resolve a problem that they aren't aware of without our feedback.

Not a big Reggie fan. he says all the right things but its starting to become just PR to me.
Reggie was a PR man, a new one at that in the big scene. They forced him to be president out of nowhere. The dude can't really pass up a sweet job forced on him. Nintendo thought he was a relatable guy, and he really is.
I don't know if he has any say yet, but new blood is what Nintendo needs. When a random PR man becomes president overnight, it's a hard pill to swallow for fans. Nintendo bailed out, and promoted what they had on hand.
Is Reggie any good? IDK, but I'm happy to take ANYTHING considering the Pre-Reggie days at NOA in the last decade.
Ninja Gaiden by Tecmo in Torrance California may be small 3rd party by a hair, but in general we've seen no hardcore releases yet. While I'm not a fan myself, Bayonetta 2 is the big third party title to keep an eye on.I agree, getting GTA on Wii U would be a big step for Nintendo.
We can all help Nintendo get strong 3rd party support by purchasing all the "hardcore" 3rd party titles like ZombiU, COD, Ninja Gaiden and Darksiders 2 over titles like Just Dance4, Your Shape Fitness evolved and Rabbids Land.
Zombie U = UBIsoft, not hardcore, COD = not hardcore, Darksiders=not hardcore. Popular doesn't mean hardcore, just mean Nintendo constantly avoids popular sales in NA.

Finally! Someone who also thinks Club Nintendo is pretty worthless in North America!
Lol, just common sense. We need to speak up and let Nintendo know that we will start buying the same games on other consoles if they keep treating us poorly. We do buy games because of Nintendo Points, not sure if Nintendo gets that in their thick skulls yet. We're pretty proud of saving up them points, and most work hard to get the gold and platinum gifts for each given year. Even today when I was shopping I chose one Wii game over the other because it qualified for Club Nintendo registration.
We've been saving up for that holy grail, it's just that Japan keeps getting it again and again while we sit waiting in the dark throwing our money away at the NOA dartboard.
Please make Club Nintendo not suck, NOA. How many times can we beg you before we stop caring? Please give us one huge prize, please even make it out of our reach but still visible! Give us a SINGLE reason to be proud of Club Nintendo USA, instead of ashamed.

Forget companies like Ubisoft (lol)
We need a true licensing epidemic.If they want to release it, let them release it. Worked for NES,SNES, Saturn(JPN), PS1, PS2, and all that matters for 360/PS3. Just let games come out, no matter how bad they are. Those small bad games are what become sleeper hits.
If the game is in bad taste, consumers can decide on their own, they don't need a Nintendo Nanny. The Nintendo Nanny is what ruined Nintendo to begin with.

Also from what Im hearing it looks like Reggie is pushing for the Mature games to get put on Wii U.
Lol, Reggie? Reggie seems like a very nice guy, but he was pushed on us. He was a sub-par speaker, and out of nowhere promoted to president. Even though I like the man, I'm not fond of puppets.
He landed a great job, and I think it's more our job to help him out than his job to help us. Nintendo of Japan shoved Reggie into big shoes to fill out of nowhere. Reggie is very relatable, so all you can do is laugh and cheer him on when put in awkward situations.

All systems are worthy, once released we are in the hands of the players. It's all down to licensing and releases whether we get the best or not.

We don't want exceptions, we want no filtering at all.
They need to sit idle and let 3rd parties release whatever they want, good or bad. It worked for the SNES, and it worked for the PS1. I think there was more filthy trash on the Famicom & SNES than any other console when I look back on it. Let the game companies release their consoles, and let the game companies release games. The great will be heralded as such, and the bad will go down in shame.

Oh silly me. I meant to say that all retail games that come with a Club Nintendo code are eligible for those surveys, sorry for the misunderstanding.
No worries, I saw unboxings on Youtube that verified the lack of registration cards. I appreciate your taking the time to help.

I just don't understand why the money spent by some consumers is worth more to Nintendo than others.
You Australians at least got the 3DS console raffle, north Americans did not at all.

I think NOA punishes American consumers because of the success of other consoles here, but it's really not the fault of Nintendo fans here in America. We still spend our hard earned money, but are grouped as a statistic to Nintendo. Bad sales in any given country shouldn't be blamed on the existing fans that they have, but yet the fans that they as a company have refused to reach out to.

So here I've been sitting on my Club Nintendo points thinking that for sure Nintendo will toss us NA consumers a bone by the time the Wii U hits store shelves. Well, we've had this huge console launch and all I see is the same ol'. What is the major malfunction with NOA that has kept our Club Nintendo in such a worthless state? The best prizes we've seen have been Japanese overstock hand-me-downs like the Gold Wii Nunchuck accessory. Our current best prize is the Game & Watch Ball for 1200 points, but it has been aging there for years and was so mass produced that it doesn't merit the 1200 points required for admission. We need limited controllers, limited figures, or just anything special. It's not that easy to garner 1200 points, so why would I blow it on an item that I can buy for $20 on eBay?
We need good rewards for casual gamers, and REAL rewards for those that spend thousands of dollars. Would it be all that rediculous to expect a limited Club Nintendo edition Wii U Gamepad for 2000 or 3000 points? Does Nintendo realize how much money it takes to get these points? Lets stop with the shoelaces, screensavers and posters... and offer a real incentive.
Dear NOA, please give us something Wii U and also offer something nice and unique to NA for your big spenders. We've played your marketing game and bought your stuff for the points, so make the points worth while.
PS: PLEASE Stop making points expire, it's really difficult to save them up! Didn't you ever stop to think that consumers bought your games with solely the incentive of your...incentive program in mind? Is the money spent by Japanese consumers that much better than that spent in the US by North Americans? Give your consumers in NA a chance for a change instead of offering us the left over & unwanted "trash can water", Jeez.

I think retailers could do well with digital download cards. Seems to work well for cell phone companies at retail venues.Simple answer retailers hold too much power, so Nintendo doesn't want to upset retailers by stealing business from them by making downloads cheaper.

How can you get those surveys for retail games that come without a Club Nintendo registration card?

It's not that hard to flip a game over at a casual gamestore, but it is hard if you don't live in a major city and are forced to shop at a major retailer like Walmart where it takes one at least 20 minutes to track down an employee to unlock the glass case. I didn't even realize the back of the games said anything. So once again, NN logo on the front is useless and deceptive.just look at the back of the box...... it tells you what it has online means it connects to the internet, thats exactly what miiverse does, for example, new super mario bros u uses miiverse and it has dlc, both listed on the back, its not hard to flip a case over before buying it
NN logo means nothing besides check the back of the box to see if the NN logo on the front means anything besides Miiverse? Still seems like terrible marketing at it's best. Why not have an online logo for the front?
Once again, Seems terribly simple for Nintendo to use either the Miiverse logo or NN logo.

no, it only has miiverse if the developers make it, and its specifically set up towards miiverse where it will have notifications come up about it, i dont think most do that
I guess I just don't get it. How is Miiverse an online thing that involves developers anymore than notifications on everything else? So if a developer pays nintendo an extra "X ammount" in licensing fees they get the NN logo on the box-art and a miiverse forum tab even if the game is 100% offline?
This seems like a bad marketeting problem more than anything. When I see a Nintendo game with the Nintendo Wi-Fi Network logo, I assumed it had online gameplay (which it always did). The Miiverse truly is an all encompassing Wii U console message board feature, not that much relevant to individual software enough to boast on a box.
If miiverse is included, the NN logo means nothing. If the NN logo means nothing, how will we know what games can be played online? Are we supposed to see the NN logo on a Wii U game at a store, drive home and research the game online to see if it can be played online, and then drive back to the store to buy it? Really defeats the point of the NN logo if you ask me.
This guessing game simply can't fly over well with both the casual and hardcore market consumers that haven't done *serious homework* for any title in question before purchase once seeing it on store shelves.
Customer: "The box says NN, is it online?"
Store Clerk: "We don't know, buy the game and then ask the Miiverse"

no, nintendo land only has miiverse, the logo isnt just for miiverse. the logo means it has some form of internet connectivity, miiverse is included in this
Ouch, doesn't...everything... on Wii U have Miiverse? I mean, it's just a psuedo online Wii U forum in the form of 3DS Swap Note. Not a game feature at all, at least not any more than my posting on this forum right now is a dedicated game feature. Heck, the Miiverse icon is located less than 1" away from the internet icon that can bring me right here.
I can see why I was confused, Nintendo needs to drop the NN logo from titles that only feature "Miiverse" for online play or at least give a disclaimer. At this rate every title will have the NN logo, online game or not.
