I think it's worth pointing out that a significant percent of used game sales go towards purchasing new games. Take away used games and some people would buy significantly fewer new games.

I agree it could have been significantly more powerful, but I don't think it will matter much in the long run. Even if the power gap is preventing third party ports, I suspect other factors such as poor sales would also keep the Wii U from getting third party ports. As long as I get a handful of great first party games a year, I'll be content.

30 million by the end of 2013 is essentially impossible

Only two consoles even have a LIFETIME mark of over 30 million sales in Japan (DS and GB).

MH3U was a launch game though. And yea, ports generally aren't gonna boost sales significantly.

It doesn't bother me, I like going to the mall sometimes too. I just prefer peaceful places since most of my normal day is usually pretty busy and hectic.

An important thing to remember is that next-gen consoles will most likely not be backwards compatible…

This really stood out to me.

Looks like there's a decent chance that all digital content bought this gen is gonna be left behind, and eventually lost once Sony and MS shut down their servers.

You're right that people have different preferences. I'm just saying more options is (almost) always a good thing. It's probably more of a time/money issue than anything, since I don't see how RE4-style controls would really be a detriment to the game.

Since you said you are getting a TB harddrive anyway, I assume you'll be getting lots of digital content. With the Deluxe version you get the digital promotion which basically reimburses 10% of your digital spendings for the next two years. Add in Nintendoland, the two extra gamepad stands, and the increased internal storage space, and I think it's worth the extra $50. Even if you aren't interested in Nintendoland, you could trade it in or sell it and recover some of that difference.

Lol. Why was this game so hyped up for the WIi U again? It always looked like a bad game to me.

Cause the director was hyping up the Wii U version to be visually and technically superior to the other versions, I believe.

But yea, the score isn't surprising to me.

Wiimote + nunchuck is pretty much as close as optimal a control scheme one can get for shooters or other games that require precise aiming on consoles... so yes, it is a bad thing.
