#168445 "PS4 Expected to run at 240 FPS & Support Hyper-Realistic Games"...

Posted by MiyamotosMom on 07 February 2013 - 03:58 PM in General Gaming

I'm talking about the difference in frame rate. Can you see a difference between 100 and 200fps?

Since my monitor is only 60hz... lol

If 60hz was the breaking point then we wouldn't have 120hz monitors for 120fps games.

Have you been able to perceive a difference in such high frame rates in your personal experience?

I've never seen a frame rate that wasn't perceivable, so...

#168427 Ubisoft talks about future Wii U support

What ways are they used though? I've only seen one level where it was used to rotate a wheel which is entirely doable with normal controls.

There is a point at which the differences between two different framerates are literally unperceivable by the human eye.

Prove it?

Prove that there is a max FPS the eyes can see. I'll be waiting.

The features are what, touch screen controls?

And I think they will sell around Wii U levels at the lowest.

I don't think the 720 and PS4 will both only sell 20k in 6 months. That would just be silly.

What novelty?

#168380 Even Rayman Legends Creator Protesting Wii U Delay

Anyone who thought Rayman Legends was going to stay exclusive has a few screws loose. There are NO exclusive Rayman games in the history of that franchise lol.

I think they may have been a little peeved when Ninty decided to leave out a lot of information with the Dev Kit documentation. Either way Legends on the Wii U will be the premier experience, rather than the gimped port for a change.

I'm honestly going to wait for the PC version, it'll be the superior version just like with Origins.

I've seen one Wii U ad on the Disney Channel and it was baaaaaaad.

#168363 Ubisoft talks about future Wii U support

http://www.ign.com/a...y-wii-u-support

"Rayman won't be Ubisoft's final effort on Wii U, despite the platform's struggle to sell, even as it loses its position as a high-profile exclusive. "We have a pipeline of games of very high quality coming on that machine, like Rayman Legends, which makes fantastic use of what the machine can do," says Guillemot. However, he points to Nintendo itself for the future of quality Wii U software, and says "they will make the necessary changes to the machine to make sure that it continues to grow fast on the market.""

"On the very big games you will see less platform exclusives happen in the future generation because of the potential, the possibilities of next-generation PCs and the next-generation of consoles will bring," Guillemot says. "That’s for the big games. For the smaller games, like you have on Xbox Live Arcade or PSN, you will probably still see some exclusive games."

Sounds to me like Wii U will be getting the usual Ubi regulars, maybe missing out on a few. But for them to give big support they expect Nintendo to step up in marketing the console.

I got annoyed so I just ignored all signatures.

I have you on ignore for your signature, that's all though.

Yeah, when you just praise someone for obviously low quality work it doesn't help them but actually hurts them. You can see more real life examples of this on shows like "Dragons Den" or "Shark Tank" or "American Idol" or "X Factor".

Why would it be sarcasm?
If they're the same thing then pc games would be as appealing to me on a screen in the pooper as the wii u's games.

It seemed like a sarcastic post but maybe that's just me being cynical, my bad~

That changes my view.

Not sure if that was sarcasm, but okay.

Just a hit count article, don't give it to them.

Miracast is NOT proprietary and NOT developed by Nintendo. Broadcom just made them a dedicated 802.11n chip for it, that's all. So honestly the Shield, using a Tegra 4, should have the same streaming capabilities if not better.

#168300 A conversation i had over Steam today

He's right though, to a point. PC gaming is objectively stronger than console gaming, except in the few instances of console exclusives.

#168296 Project Shield Borderlands 2 Demo

Posted by MiyamotosMom on 07 February 2013 - 12:03 PM in General Gaming

Yep, and since it's just got 802.11g or n, the range won't be as good and latency will be poop compared with wii u.

You do know how the Wii U's streaming works, right?

Shield uses the same thing, as it has a TEGRA chip which has enhanced miracast even further since Tegra3.

That's when you are in the same room as the PC, with this you can (possibly) take your PC game, for example, into the restroom or the living room.

I don't see this as being used for playing in the same room, there is no point for playing on the small screen when you have a giant screen.
