Just got my Wii U but feel free to add me: IvyTamwood
Currently I only own NintendoLand but I'm looking to get more titles soon

On my PS3 I'm playing New Game Plus on The Last of Us, ICO and The Cave (too many titles too play thanks to PSN+).
On the Wii U, only playing Nintendo Land and Rayman Legends Challenges. Trying to get Lego City or MH3U soon.

At this point, the Wii U's library is very limited, especially when it comes to games worth paying full retail price.
I personally think New Super Mario Bros. U, Lego City and Sonic All-Stars are the ones you should get, especially if you're more of a casual gamer. If you want to get something a bit more intense, Monster Hunter 3 and ZombiU are great titles.
On the eShop the definite must have is Trine 2. Give a try to the Rayman Legends Challenges App because not only it'll give you new challenges everyday, it's a great glimpse at what's coming when the full game comes out. And it's free, so you can't really beat that.
You can also get great games from the Wii library if you skipped the Wii last gen, and you can get those for a pretty cheap buck now.

It's worth $40. Do you like Luigi at all? You could also wait for the retail version of New Super Luigi U that's only $30. You seem to be playing a few games at the moment though. If I were you I would play what you're playing now, wait for Pikmin to come out, decide if you're going to get that (I bet you will) and then use NSMBU/NSLU as a bridge when there's a gap in games you don't like.
Hmm I don't think I'll be getting NSLU but I have enough points in my GAME card that when I go buy Pikmin 3 I might be able to bring a NSMBU copy too. I do have a lot of Wii games to finish but I'm just so excited to play all these Nintendo franchises in HD

I really want to get this one since the last SMB game I played on a home console was on the NES times... But I've heard this is basically the same as the DS version (which I own and love) and the Wii version (don't own but I've played it as well). I could get it for around $40/$45... Do you think it's worth the price? I doubt it'll ever go down to budget price, since I still see the Wii version priced as much as $50.

I think for these big shot devs the issues lies in profiting. Developing a game for the Wii U is obviously going to be different than developing for the PS3/360 but that extra effort might also require more human resources and it's also possibly more costly. Now, do they want to shell out extra $$$ (even if it's a small amount considering all their wealth) for a console that's selling poorly? No. They rather invest in other, more successful, consoles that'll give them more sales, therefore more profit.

I never played the original, and since there's not a lot of games I want to buy for the Wii U this year, I might get it during the 1st month if I find it cheap somewhere. Maybe wait til there's 2nd hand copies.

I'm not expecting everything to be perfect I think Nintendo are rushing this a bit.
They're rushing it because the Zelda team said they want to deliver a better experience for the "true HD Zelda on the Wii U" but that's taking them longer than expected so they want to give something to Zelda fans anyway.

I would rather see them make a way to play 3ds games on the Wii u with a hi res texture pack. You know, like use street pass to somehow have the 3DS stream the Pokemon versions to the Wii u, the Wii u has a program on it that plays the 3ds game in hi res.
What? What 'program'? Because damn, the moment the Wii U starts playing 3DS games than what's the point of owning a 3DS? Nintendo would never do that.

You didn't think about this post as all did you?
The GameCube had an add on that allowed people to play game boy advance games on the tv. Think of this as a program that performs a similar function. The game I still a 3DS game and runs on the 3DS, this just streams to the Wii u and has a texture pack that allows for HD (or at least higher quality visuals). Still a 3DS game, just with a way to continuously sun with the Wii u so you can play on your console while you are home and your 3DS is in range
The 3DS will always be worth owning because it is a portable and I can always keep it with me. I've always gamed a lot more on the portable side than console side.
Well, I thought you meant playing 3DS games like some sort of Virtual console thing. Streaming 3DS games to your TV via Wii U, that makes more sense.

I really liked what they did with Colosseum and Gale of Darkness, so yeah it could totally be successful in a home console, it's just probably Game Freak doesn't want that.

Wow did Nintendo get inside my head and found out all the stuff I wanted from a Zelda game?
Is this a dream??? I can't believe this, if this is true, this might be one of the best, if not the best, Zelda game ever.

Well obviously ZombiU isn't going to sell as well as, say, NSMBU but that's to be expected just a little, right? I mean, not only most people who buy the Wii U mostly enjoy only Nintendo's first-party games (tbh that's my case) but survival horror is rarely a genre that gets as many sales as other genres, and considering this is a brand new IP, it's sort of to be expected. And I've played the demo and to be honest I wasn't that impressed with it. I was gonna buy it but I'm glad I tried the demo first. The gameplay feels bland, repetitive and I feel like they didn't try that hard with the environments, not to mention story-wise it's terribly boring and there's not even a likable character that you can get attached to because once you die, you start over with a completely new character.

Not gonna pre-order because there's not any kind of pre-order bonus and I'd rather wait a couple of days for feedback from reviews and stuff, since this is gonna be my first Pikmin game (aside from the Pikmin minigame on NintendoLand )
I don't think there's a point in waiting for a price drop on this one since it might take quite some time, considering this is a big Nintendo title... Just look at NSMBU. It's still priced between $40-$60 everywhere I see.

I'll likely get it when the price drops to about $20.
Hmm if it ever drops that low. It's rare for Nintendo first-party games. But that'd be a great deal, obviously. Maybe you can get it that low 2nd hand.

If we look at the difference between first and third-party titles on the PS3 you can tell first-party games are usually the ones that utilize the full power of the PS3 better. So why expect different from the Wii U? It's clear that Nintendo struggled a bit with HD development but Pikmin 3 is the proof that the Wii U hardware is capable of some really beautiful, next-gen looking games. It's a shame that most people don't consider Nintendo games as "next-gen" just because they don't have "realistic graphics".

Maybe if Nintendo of Europe can't bring the same TVii experience to all European countries exactly like the American TVii, they could instead use TVii as an enhanced TV Remote app that would allows to control our current DVR devices.

Yuck, 9.99 Euro.
Why are Dollar and Euro always priced the same? At least the pricing for pounds is fine. Oh well, thanks but no thanks nintendo.
THIS. 9,99€ is more expensive than $10. And the worse is they do this with every title. I pay almost $100 for a game on release day just because someone thinks 60€ is the same as $60.
I'm sorry for the double post but I'm highly considering getting this one, despite the price. Never played the original but I feel as a RPG fan I'm missing out on a classic. But I have a few concerns before I go in... First, for those of you who already bought it, what's the filesize once it's installed? And eShop purchases on the Wii U, do they stay "bound" to my account or is the license exclusively for the console I buy it on?

This is good, maybe people will stop complaining about "not enough third-party support" or "not enough hardcore games".

I don't understand everyone's obsession with getting DLC though. I mean, for me, DLC are just a pain; most of those things could've been easily included in the game, most are seriously overprice and 4/5 DLC's add little to no content (the only DLC's I ever bothered getting were for Mass Effect, that actually added more to the story).

Obviously there will always be deals and other stuff going on in the background that we will never know. Everyone's in the business to win, to get more money and that means that they have to weaken the competition. Now, can others be fully faulted by some of Nintendo's mistakes, mistakes that have even been admitted themselves they made them?
