#16750 Zelda, the Wii U and online functionality

Posted by Epic Kirby on 24 July 2011 - 11:37 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I want a normal single player story, and a nice fully fleshed through Co-op story, that is different from the main  story.

Yeah, I think it would be good to have them separate but a drop in drop out would not be too bad either. Or maybe a boss challenge mode where you take on bosses much harder than the main story with a friend.

Well, do you have a happy one? I've had one, it just wasn't my first one.

Nope :) not a first one

Oh yeah, I remember that song...

Unfortunately I was never that inspired to write a poem for my first crush :D .

#94 Your favourite game of 2010

Posted by Epic Kirby on 21 December 2010 - 03:18 PM in General Gaming

It keeps changing for me, I guess for Wii it would have to be Epic Mickey, DS Golden Sun/Dragon Quest IX and for PS3 Fallout New Vegas. Wii favourite probably would have been Epic Yarn but it hasn't come out in UK yet so it can't count for 2010.

#271 Your favorite game that no one plays

Posted by Epic Kirby on 26 December 2010 - 04:12 PM in General Gaming

Myself, I would have to tip my proverbial hat to Pharaoh. It's an old city-building sim set in ancient Egypt, and is by far one of the finest games I've ever played.[/color]

I have the demo of that game!
It's in French though, and has no sound. Oh, and since it's a demo, you can't get past your first mastaba.

It was included on the CD of a Greek version of that. I don't know how it was originally called, but the French name is Le Maître de l'Olympe: Zeus - "The Master of Olympus: Zeus". It has all the different gods with their positive and negative influences, farms/docks/etc buildings depending on the different food sources, modest and luxurious houses with different needs...
I forgot what the adventure was about now though. I only play the "sandbox" modes, where you have no objectives.

But before you go "*LE-GASP* Ephesus has a strategy game and he doesn't even bother to try the adventure mode?!", let me tell you about Age of Mythology, which I had bought during our USA trip a couple years ago.
I've managed to go quite far in AoM. The best part is that you get to control three different civilizations: mostly Greek, but also Egyptian and Norse; each having their own ways of gaining divine favor, different units to gather food and/or build, and all.
I'm not telling you more; go buy it and play it nao. :x

Oh, man I love Mater of Olympus Zeus, it came with my old computer but my brother 'loaned' it to his friend and I never saw it again. Then years later I bought it from Amazon for six quid. I still play it now.

#12695 Your favorite game that no one plays

Posted by Epic Kirby on 06 July 2011 - 12:36 PM in General Gaming

I play that game every day. It's awesome.

America Mcgee's Alice.

Played this game but I was too young to appreciate it and found it weird.

Ghost Trick (DS)
Starfox Adventures (GC)
Dragonball Z Budokai Tenkaichi (PS2)
Sonic Battle (GBA)
Dragonball Z Goku's Legacy Series (GBA)
Harry Potter Philosophers Stone - Prisoner of Azkaban (PS2)
Luigi's Mansion (GC) (Though it's getting some more attention thanks to 3DS Sequel :))
Pokemon Channel (GC)

Yeah that's about it I reckon ;)

I've played quite a few of those games, they're not really that obscure.

#18190 your average internet usage time

About 3-4 hours a day, maybe more

#11767 Yoshi Wii U

Posted by Epic Kirby on 01 July 2011 - 05:07 PM in Wii U Games and Software

I don't think it will happen but it might. I just feel like this would be more suited to the Nintendo 3DS.

#12121 Yoshi Wii U

Posted by Epic Kirby on 03 July 2011 - 04:43 PM in Wii U Games and Software

If Yoshi does come to the Wii U there has to be something great and different about it. I'm not sure whether a simple platformer would do, it would have to be more than that.

#12123 YAY! 4Kids going bankrupt :D

Posted by Epic Kirby on 03 July 2011 - 04:54 PM in The Café

Not really sure what 4Kids is but I'm guessing from the general theme of the thread that this is good news so...

HURRAY!!!

#16677 Xbox 720 to display Avatar-like graphics

Posted by Epic Kirby on 24 July 2011 - 06:45 AM in General Gaming

It's not even what the console would cost that worries me, Microsoft can sell it at a loss if they want. It's how much it would cost to create software of that graphical calibre.Games are already expensive as it is. £49.99 for the triple A titles, what will the next gen cost £79.99? That's too close to a hundred pounds for my liking.

#10 XBOX 360 Handheld

Posted by Epic Kirby on 19 December 2010 - 12:03 PM in General Gaming

I know that there has been the release of the Zune and the Windows phone but is this as close to an XBOX 360 handheld that we are going to get.

The idea of portable versions of XBOX exclusives such as Halo are the ultimate fantasy of Microsoft fanboys.

With the tittering sales of the PSP and its epic fail the PSP Go maybe it is time for Microsoft to step up and see if they can be worthy opponents for handheld veterans Nintendo.

Would an XBOX 360 handheld survive in the market with the sales of Micro fans alone?

#93 XBOX 360 Handheld

Posted by Epic Kirby on 21 December 2010 - 03:14 PM in General Gaming

Microsoft = Xbox 180? (360 divided by 2 is 180. :lol: )

Lol  ;)

And if they did make one they better make sure its not packed full of problems like 360 when it first released *cough* red ring of death *cough*

#3405 Would you like to see a Wii 2 Blog podcast?

Posted by Epic Kirby on 31 May 2011 - 06:59 AM in Site News and Feedback

Yeah, I think it would be a great idea for you guys to do a podcast. I really like listening to this Nintendo podcast, I think its either Gamespot UK or IGN UK, can't remember which. What I like is they don't just tell the news but give us their opinions on it and answer/discuss questions that people send in. I've got a few ideas on how it could go.

- Fortnightly (weekly would be too demanding) podcast in two parts, first part telling and discussing the weeks' news, next part answering and discussing questions that readers send in.

-It would be good if you could get two people discussing the news together, it would be a bit boring with one but if you can only get one then I guess it would suffice.

-Make it downloadable if possible.

-Do special themed podcasts, for example a pre-e3 podcast, post e3-podcast, Christmas and so on

All the major gaming websites have podcasts so I think you should and it would help freshen up the site because everyone likes new stuff :D

#19580 Would you buy additional Wii U controllers?

Posted by Epic Kirby on 07 August 2011 - 07:48 AM in Wii U Hardware

Yes, I would buy a new controller but whether or not developers will make games that allow for two Wii U controllers is another question. I think they will in the future when the controller can be manufactured for cheaper but until then the most the other controller could be used for is a spare.

#19563 Would Ps3/360 owners switch to the Wii U or wait for ps4/720?

Posted by Epic Kirby on 07 August 2011 - 06:17 AM in Wii U Hardware

I'm not selling my PS3, sorry but the Wii U's not that good. As for people like my bro who even though they like Nintendo's first party offerings they prefer having a bigger mix of third party they don't have much of a reason yet except for Killer Freaks and Lego City Stories. A lot of them would buy the Wii U if there was a HD Zelda on the table. The Wii U is doing well though by getting games that the other consoles get Arkham City, Metro: Last Light etc it just needs something a little more now.

#8324 Would a Majora's Mask remake be better suited for the Wii-U?

Posted by Epic Kirby on 17 June 2011 - 01:11 PM in Wii U Games and Software

No, I want a brand new game, agree with what some people have said about having it for the 3DS. Remakes are all well and good but we need original games as well. The Wii U needs as much original games it can get rather than just remake after remake.

The good thing about the 3DS is that it offers a unique experience that the Wii U can't which sort of makes up for its lesser graphics/HD.

The 3D.

#18187 Worth having a Wii U Go wiki?

Posted by Epic Kirby on 03 August 2011 - 06:59 AM in Site News and Feedback

What if those subs are in Japanese? :)
(Seriously, though, I know around 600 Kanji atm; That's just over 1/4th of how many you need to know to be considered literate!
I'll most certainly be finished with Kanji and have moved onto sentences when the WiiU launches :P)

Honestly, I think the first three pages we need are a list of companies that show support (Pages for the big ones like Square-Enix), a list of confirmed details about the WiiU and a list of Rumored/Speculated/Stated by third party specs about the WiiU. After that we should add pages for all of the confirmed games, then a list of games that might come to the system.

As for a page on Feld0 and Ruthie... I think it would be better to stick all of them into a single page called 'WiiUForums', along with similar details about the community, because they're not too important to the WiiUniverse (SeewhatIdidthere?). As for Yoshi Fandom page... Not on the main Wiki, but perhaps we could have some sort of section/tag devoted to less serious things, like the 'Sugar Wiki' on TvTropes and the 'D for Dwarf' pages on Dwarf Fortress wiki.

We don't want someone who wants information on Arkham City accidentally stumbling on a page about Yoshi anatomy, now do we? ;)

I really like your ideas so far :(, I think a wiki would be a good idea if someone was willing to put a lot of time an effort into it, Like Feld0 already mentioned it would be a very time consuming job.

It would be quite a good thing if done right.
