#12637 What is Your Favorite Nintendo Console?

Posted by MacroManJr on 06 July 2011 - 08:25 AM in General Gaming

I've owned every Nintendo console since the NES, and it's for me hard to have clear favorites.  They've all brought me something awesome.  But if I had to choose which one stood out as the most defining, I'd have to say N64, by a nose.

It was a bit of a tie for me, between NES, SNES, and N64 as the most defining.  But I think N64 had my favorite round of first-party titles, a smidgen more than NES or SNES for me.

With games like Super Mario 64, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, F-Zero X, Star Fox 64, Mario Kart 64, Super Smash Bros., Mario Golf, Excitebike 64, Pokémon Snap, 1080° Snowboarding, Paper Mario, Wave Race 64--those first-party games pretty much sealed the deal with Nintendo 64 for me.

And you also had GoldenEye 007, Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie, Jet Force Gemini, Blast Corps, and Perfect Dark--all from Rare, and all great!

I lost a lot of sleep with N64!  I personally think N64 had multiplayer gaming at its finest!  I think even though the N64 didn't have as many games as some other consoles, the N64 had my favorite load of first-party Nintendo games than any other system, with SNES a close second.

In fact, I wish the Wii U would see a resurgence of first-party games like we saw with N64.  Sure, bring the third-party support, but bring on an onslaught of stellar first-party games, too.  If that truly happens, then I'm expecting Wii U to take the crown!

#12458 The Operation Moogle Petition Thread and Poll

Posted by MacroManJr on 05 July 2011 - 10:48 AM in General Gaming

This is the official Operation Moogle Petition Thread and Poll!

Welcome, Final Fantasy fans worldwide! Here is where you sign the Operation Moogle Petition, in the form of a reply, and take our Poll.

Here, Square Enix can see the strong following wanting this Final Fantasy HD Collection they're looking into doing, given if a strong voice speaks up for one, and we'll certainly give them that voice! And we'll even go the extra mile in showing them what we want to see most on this compilation with our Poll! You can visit our website or the discussion thread for more information.

So let's get started!

But first, just a few rules for your replies as signatures, guys:

  • In your replies, all you need is your name. You can post a simple reply of your forum user name, your first name alone, your first name and last initial, or your first and last name. It's up to you.
  • You can leave a little message for Square Enix, but please, keep it short (25 words or less).
  • No profanity--keep it clean, guys.
  • Since you have an account here, you don't have to reveal your e-mail publicly, like most petitions.
  • Please do not post more than one reply in this Thread.
  • Please reserve all comments, questions, and suggestions pertaining to Operation Moogle for the Operation Moogle suggestion thread or the official Operation Moogle blog site. Leave only your optional short messages in your signature replies to Square Enix.

Also, as a note, you can vote for more than one choice. I set no limit on voting here. (Just don't vote for them all! Hahaha!) And you can only vote once, so make it count!

Okay, Square Enix, you wanted this voice from us? You've got it! Beyond this introductory post will be nothing but pure petition signatures. Consider our poll votes as well. This is what you wanted. Now just give us what we want!

#91170 Pokemon mmo for wii u?

Posted by MacroManJr on 01 July 2012 - 05:06 PM in Wii U Games and Software

I've been hoping for a Pokémon MMO for years.  PKMN MMO would be just plain awesome on the Wii U.  There's already been a few decent fan-made PKMN MMO-style games, but I think if someone made a really cool one, and it got popular, we might see Game Freak get the incentive to make an official one.  Even just a traditional sprite-based Pokémon would do the trick, I think, though I think a 3D Pokémon MMO would be awesome, too.

#20162 Help the Operation Moogle channel design!

Posted by MacroManJr on 09 August 2011 - 03:48 PM in General Gaming

Alright, Blade, I'm cooking up some early test animation videos of the production of those montage videos.  I haven't sent them to you only because I figured we'd leave the early test videos separate from the final videos, to keep the Operation Moogle YouTube Channel for the final videos and keep it clean from a bunch of animation tests and stuff.  But those videos are progressing in production and we'll be seeing something soon enough for the official YouTube channel.

#16218 Help the Operation Moogle channel design!

Posted by MacroManJr on 20 July 2011 - 06:21 PM in General Gaming

Good idea, Blade!  I tried to message here a little earlier, but it took me like 15 minutes to find the reply box!  It's kinda hard to see!  ;P  In fact, in light of what I told in the Discussion Thread, this would be the perfect place for tossing ideas for the channel!  Having a distinct thread on the YouTube Channel's design will be helpful!  And as far as I can see, you're the owner of the Channel, man!  :P  The more we spread out the administration behind Operation Moogle, the better we can operate!

Posted by MacroManJr on 30 August 2011 - 05:59 AM in General Gaming

Auzzie Wingman made a cool suggestion on the Discussion Thread.  Auzzie wondered if maybe we could look into asking Monty Oum (of Haloid and Dead Fantasy fame) if he'd be interested in creating a video for Operation Moogle.  That'd be an awesome idea!  I'm not sure how likely it is, but if we could contact him, and just ask him, who knows what he might say?  Meanwhile, I'm still producing the two montage videos, and I'm working on the Zidane model at the moment (I speak a little more about it on the Discussion Thread).  Anyways, just hang on a little while longer, guys--as soon as I can get stable somewhere, I'll be better able to finish these videos!

Also make sure the links to the facebook page and the twitter are in the first post of this thread and on the Operation Moogle website so it's clear to see :D

Okay, I've got the links in the OP! B) Still trying to get past some foolery that WordPress is serving me at the moment, but I'll have those links posted on the Promote This page of the Operation Moogle website.

And you guys can go ahead and join those Facebook and Twitter pages. So far, I've only got three subscribers on Twitter and one on Facebook! The Petition itself is still underway, but these pages are pretty much done.

Right now I'm working out the details for the official Operation Moogle Petition Thread and Poll. I'm writing the details for it on the website first, and then I'm starting the Petition Thread and Poll. I'll finish the few details for the thread in a little while, and then I'll run it by you guys.

#12324 "Operation Moogle"

Posted by MacroManJr on 04 July 2011 - 02:21 PM in General Gaming

Okay, guys, check out these simple rules for the Petition Thread:

  • At the least, in your replies, all you need is your name.  You can post a simple reply of your forum user name, your first name alone, your first name and last initial, or your first and last name.  It's up to you.
  • You can leave a little message for Square Enix, but please, keep it short (25 words or less).
  • No profanity--keep it clean, guys.
  • Since you have an account here, you don't have to reveal your e-mail publically.
  • Please do not post more than one reply in this Thread.
  • Please save all comments, questions, and suggestions pertaining to Operation Moogle for the Operation Moogle suggestion thread.

Tell me what you think about these.  And though I'm trying to keep the rules at a minimum with these, am I missing anything important to specify?  Let me know!

Also, let me know if there's anyone about the list of games I mentioned earlier to include in our poll.  If these are okay, then I'll go ahead and start the Petition Thread, post these rules in the Petition Thread, and kick off the petition with the first reply.  :D

And finally, Feld0 and Ruthie, since you have some adminstrative experience with your news site and this forum, are either or both of you interested in being an co-Administrators for the Operation Moogle Facebook fan page?  Similarly, when I finish the official Operation Moogle blog site, my offer extends to that, too.

#12331 "Operation Moogle"

Posted by MacroManJr on 04 July 2011 - 02:50 PM in General Gaming

Rules look good. Remember to re-post them in the petition thread itself.

I thought I should let you know about the limits of polls here. A single poll on this forum can have 3 separate questions, each with up to 20 choices. Are those limits high enough for the poll you're going to run, or do they need to be raised?

Ruth isn't an admin, by the way. She's my assistant writer at Wii U Go, but doesn't have any admin privileges or anything. I'm quite busy myself, so I don't think I'll have time to lead the project as a co-admin of your blog and FB page, but I'll be happy to help you guys out in any way I (realistically) can. Besides, I think it's cool to watch the community here reach out and do something on their own. :D

Yeah, I'll definitely re-post these rules in the Petition Thread.  Thanks for looking them over!

About the polls, so far, I have 30 games in all listed.  But maybe this can work.  The first 20 are games of the main Final Fantasy series, and last 10 are main-series-related games.  So maybe we can set up the Poll that way:

"Which of these of the main Final Fantasy series would you like to see in the compilation?"  (Choose among 20 titles listed)

"Which of these of the games related to the main Final Fantasy series would you like to see in the compilation?"  (Choose among 10 titles listed)

Does that sound good, Feld0?

~~~~~
Oh, that reminds me: Hey, everyone, do you guys think we should limit the number of choices they can select from, or just leave it open?  I ask, because I'm concerned about some people just voting for them all, and getting a more unrealistic expectation with the Poll for Square Enix to take into consideration.  I mean, it's unrealistic that ALL of these games will end up in such a compilation, and if so, we'd want only the honest top choices of our poll selected for the compilation.  Do you agree?
If so, then I will need to know this so that I can set a limited number of choices for poll voters.  I was think about having voters choose around 7 to 10 out of the 30 choices.  But that reminds me--are we able to set such a limit of choices in the polls, Feld0?
Any my co-adminstration offer for the Facebook and Twitter sites and the blog site is open to anyone!  Let me know if you're interested!
#12339 "Operation Moogle"
Posted by MacroManJr on 04 July 2011 - 03:16 PM in General Gaming
Quite a lot has happened on this thread since earlier.
Also, is this just for North America or for us Europeans too?
This a worldwide event!  This Petition will be open to any of the marketed region!  Europe, the Americas, Asia, Australia.  One of the advantages of having this Petition with a forum is that people at Square Enix can see our Locations.  If we ALL demand this game, we won't run into Localization problems that folks with Operation Rainfall are dealing with (well, at least, that's the plan).
The aim of this petition is not only to let Square Enix know that we ALL want this compilation, but to also put some positive pressure on Nintendo to host this third-party title on the Wii U worldwide without the localization issues they're currently giving gamers with Operation Rainfall.  Nintendo wants stronger third-party support for Wii U.  Square Enix, one of the biggest third-party developers in the world, has expressed interest in the Wii U.  We here at this forum want both the Wii U and this Final Fantasy HD compilation.
A game like a Final Fantasy HD compilation would definitely help the Wii U compete for the "core" gamer.  This game will undoubtedly be released on PS3 and 360, and probably for PC too, and none of those with localization problems.  We just want to make sure it comes out (first of all), and then comes out on Wii U with no localization issues.
About where the Petition will be, it will be a thread here at TheWiiU.com, a dedicated thread set exclusively for our single replies to that thread counting as our signatures of this petition.  This thread will remain the suggestion box/discussion thread for the Operation Moogle, while another thread will be started really soon as the actual petition to host our signatures.
I'm working on a poll we can also participate in along with replying our signatures in that Petition Thread, where we can vote for what games we want to see in the compilation.  Feld0 has offered to give the Petition Thread a dedicated spot, so as soon as I finish with the final touches, I'll start the Petition Thread.  You can check out the rules for posting on hat Petition Thread in my last comment, and I'll repost those rules in the Petition Thread, too.
But until the Petition Thread I'm still working on is complete (and I'll announce it), you can visit our Facebook fan page and Twitter page, and check on the progress of our official blog site.   :D
#12577 "Operation Moogle"
Posted by MacroManJr on 05 July 2011 - 10:42 PM in General Gaming
I've created a new subforum for this, and moved both topics into it. The petition/poll thread looks great.
Which blog? MacroManJr's, David's, or mine? There are three great reasons to use Wii U Forums instead: 1) they're a neutral zone between the two Wii U blogs associated with them; 2) having the petition and poll in the form of a thread is neat and tidy; and 3) it's a fabulous way to promote this community, as there's a good chance that some of the people who register to sign the petition will stick around for the Wii U discussions.
Thanks a million for creating a subforum for Operation Moogle!  That's really going to help us a lot!  And thank you for liking the petition/poll thread!
Also, to what you said about using this forum, those are actually some of the good reasons I listed on the blog site!
Hey Macro, just wondering here, do you have any of the videos ready? Because I just got a Dropbox and wanted to see how it works xD
Nope, not yet.  I'm just in concept stage at the moment.  Should have something to share in a day or so, though.  But if you wanna test out Dropbox, you can place any Operation Moogle signature images there and place the public links to those signatures (in a public Dropbox folder) on your Facebook, Twitter, whatever.  Of course, this is just an excuse to use Dropbox (I like such excuses), but it could be a neat way to promote Operation Moogle while you're at it!   :D
Shouldn't this be in the Blog instead of this forum? That way, everyone can sign the petition, not just Wii U members.
Actually, that would be kinda difficult to do.  Those free WordPress pages are blog sites, and they operate a little differently behind the scenes than a normal website (which are typically managed from scratch or using WordPress a more by-hand way).  Also, integration of a petition with the site is not simple (not for free, anyways).
Yeah, I could've used one of those sites claiming to offer "free petition," but those are kinda a pain.  They want a home address from you, our e-mail addresses, a limited signature goal, tons of ads everywhere, blah blah blah.  Those "free petition" sites are free to begin with because they collect and reserve your personal info to sell it to email-based advertisers (spammers), as they reserve that right to do so in their terms of agreement.
So yeah, it's just a lot easier than dealing with a forum where you can have as no limit of signatures, you can just leave your name (or alias) as a signature, you can take the poll and then just leave a post with your name (or alias) as a signature, and you can participate with the discussion thread.
All you need is an e-mail address and an name (doesn't even have to be your real name!) to start an profile here, and you're ready for business!  Conversely, you can be as creative as you want with your support for Operation Moogle, with forum signature images and suggestions to us.
Though, after I made the petition/poll, I did at least place a copy of the poll there on the blog site.  I realized that once you vote for in the poll with the petition, you can't vote again.  So if there were any games in the list you forgot, you can cast a vote them here.  So there's two places for the poll.
I also put on the site an encouraging word for joining this forum site.  I did inform folks that though this is a Wii U forum site and Wii U is our general talk, there is a section here where we do talk about other game consoles, too.  And we don't HATE the other consoles (many of us OWN other consoles)--we just love the Wii U a lot, that's all!
And really, a lot of people out there haven't really been following the news about the Wii U too much since E3, so I think when they see some of the things we're talking about with Wii U, that may create an interest in Wii U as well.
By using this forum, we make emphatically clear that we don't want the Wii U to get left out of consideration for this compilation!  PS3, Xbox 360, and PC will surely get such the HD collection, so we're not concerned about whether a release would come to them.  We want this game on ALL the HD gaming platforms, including the Wii U.
I hope this wasn't too long!  But yeah, there are several reasons why I chose on a forum site for this campaign.  Plus, Feld0 kindly gave us our own spot here and a shout-out!  Can't beat that!
#12348 "Operation Moogle"
Posted by MacroManJr on 04 July 2011 - 04:55 PM in General Gaming
Everything sounds good. Uh...I don't think IP.Board allows us to limit the number of choices a user can select in a poll, so if you allow people to choose multiple games, you'll have to trust that they're reasonable enough to not choose all of them. Considering how unrealistic it is to expect them to include, like, 10 of them, anyway, I think it might be better to ask people to choose a single game they want to see in the collection the most. You're expecting a lot of people to join the effort, right?
I do expect a lot of people to join the effort, but I was thinking that since some of the games of the series have smaller game disc sizes than others (particularly the older ones), and since they've already released some of these games as remakes anyways, then that could affect the size of the content on the disc, and maybe at most, we would see about the 7 to 10. About five of the larger-sized games can fit onto one 25GB game disc, so I just gave a little room for compromise between the choices of games people want the most and what number of games Square Enix would decide to do.
I don't think we'll see even 7 games on the compilation, but again, it depends on what games the voters choose most, and what Square Enix would do, so I was just ball-parking it with a best-case scenario. I'm saying that at a realistic best, we'll probably looking at 7. And at the nearly impossible-to-happen but still possible scenario, in terms of game disc space, we could see a possible 10 of the choices of certain size fit on one disc. And God forbid if Square Enix just decided to go crazy with a two-collection Collector's Edition or something! Then we COULD be looking at a 10-game compilation of classics remastered in HD. I was leaving room for all those possibilities, even the zaniest ones.
But you know what? We'll just leave it open to voters' discretion. Save us all headaches. Hahaha!
Okay, guys--I've got a basic set-up for the blog site. Here's the link to the site:
http://operationmoogle.wordpress.com/
It's still in development and I'm sprucing this up more, so keep that in mind and, please, give me your feedback! Right now, I'm just putting the pieces together, but I'll organize it better (particularly the header bar), and again, I'm open to your suggestions.
Also, here is the Facebook fan page:
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Operation-Moogle/186327878091343
And here is the Twitter page:
http://twitter.com/#!/OperationMoogle
Also, I'm making FroggyForce's signature available for download on the site, as part of the Promote This page on the site.
In fact, I was thinking that maybe we could have several signatures available, though I personally like FroggyForce's signature as our de facto main signature. That way, folks can choose among a variety of signatures (people like that kind of thing). What do you guys think?
And since I've got a LOT of time off work to do this, I'll be spending much of my time working on this blog site. (I like any excuse to spend all day making something!) So yeah, check it out so far, bookmark it, come up with ideas for it, let me know how you like it so far.
I'll be in my lab all day long working on this, and I'll stay online here so you can contact me and stuff. This is coming together pretty quickly. I think we might can even get this petition thread started today! :D
#12179 "Operation Moogle"
Posted by MacroManJr on 03 July 2011 - 09:03 PM in General Gaming
Well I made a signature for operation moogle if you want to start using it. You can suggest anything to change to make it better. http://i53.tinypic.com/sy7d54.jpg
Personally, I definitely really like the concept of this signature, showing the several key faces that most of us will want to see included in this compilation. Seeing those faces TOGETHER will definitely encourage a lot of people to want push this thing to becoming a reality. I've been looking into some of the bundles and compilations that Square Enix has compiled over the years, and one thing I've noticed is that they tended to stick with make compilations based on sequels and prequels.
But to my knowledge, I've never seen a compilation that included Tidus, Zidane Tribal, Cecil Harvey, AND Cloud Strife on the face of it. Having an image that promotes that possibility a great idea. THAT would get any Final Fantasy fan to step up (and also generate more interest in Wii U...). By having people visit this forum, this will generation support for the Wii U, and that's only good for the Wii U!
Maybe if this petition draws enough interest, Nintendo won't be so inclined to meet it with disinterest like they did with Operation Rainfall. The Last Story was more a gamble for localization (I suppose)--but a (possible) Final Fantasy HD Compilation of this magnitude is a sure console seller. By the time this compilation would come out, the Wii U should be out by then. With Nintendo wanting to regain the core gamer, I think they'll have to pay notice to this. And one good image like this one can help inspire all that!
If I may make some suggestions about improving it even more, I would like to suggest placing something in the background, as it's a little bare. At least, for a Final Fantasy signature, anyways. What if you were to try placing one of the famous Yorainbowaka Amano illustrations faintly appearing behind the text, similar to how it's done here:
http://bulk2.destructoid.com/ul/156492-ff.jpg
http://media.giantbomb.com/uploads/0/1055/243063-7eceed3119710ad5ddee939e2610cfac20080630175407_super.jpg
That way, we keep the attention on those famous faces of Final Fantasy, and yet we keep that classic Final Fantasy atmosphere about the image overall. Other than this, this is the only suggestions I personally have to offer. (Oh, and of course, keep the Moogle!) Good job with this contribution!
Alright, I was thinking a little introduction video explaining the situation that you can link people that are interested in the Project so they know what the goal exactly is and all. Don't worry I can upload videos but if you want to be able to manage the account I can send you a message with the username and password.
You can manage it, if you'd like! It's OUR project, after all. :D Yeah, the little introduction video sounds like a plan. I think as soon as we can get a little more information to introduce, like getting a general "OKAY" with the poll's games listing, starting a Facebook page and a Twitter page, and the thread is open for petitions (which I'm working on as we speak), we'll know where we can direct people's attentions.
I've pinned the The Operation Moogle Petition Thread and Poll for you MacroManJr for the time being. If Operation Moogle gets its own section on the forumin the future, me or Feld0 will move it there. Even though I'm not an FF fan, I'm interested to see where this petition goes.
Thanks! Appreciate it!
Hey, dude, are you going to send me the videos or something, or maybe you want total access to the Youtube page? Please do let me know so I can be ready :D
Also-
This is epic, we should use it xD
Yeah, I can send the videos to you when I'm done with something, or we could even share a Dropbox folder (if you're familiar with Dropbox). Any way is fine with me! And that song is definitely a good consideration for the lighter-toned video montage! Boss theme music from a recent popular hit with nostalgic 8-bit flair--that's says "fandom" all day!
I want to be a part of this petition. I played FF XIII and loved it, now i want to get the other games and this would be the easiest way for me to get the games.
Glad you want to be a part of Operation Moogle!  Every bit of Final Fantasy-lovin' fan support helps!  And yeah, this would be the easiest way to play other games that some have yet to play!
There are several games on that list that most people outside Japan (or without a handheld like Nintendo DS or Sony PSP) didn't get to play.  Some Nintendo gamers just didn't get to play ANY of the more recent titles.
And I was sure to include an enhanced version of Final Fantasy VII as a vote (along with the selection option for the original for the purists among Final Fantasy VII fans), since Square Enix did get our hopes up for a couple years ago for a remake of FFVII, but haven't done so yet.
So yeah, this compilation would satisfy a lot of people as an easy way to play these games--and all in HD glory.
Hey, if you haven't already, be sure you do get your say in the Polls and leave a short message to Square Enix with your reply signature in the Petition.  You can find it here.   B)
I made my own version of the sig with the background I made.
#12174 "Operation Moogle"
Posted by MacroManJr on 03 July 2011 - 08:07 PM in General Gaming
Okay, guys, here's the list of FF games I have compiled for the poll thus far:
Final Fantasy
Final Fantasy II
Final Fantasy III
Final Fantasy III (Nintendo DS remake)
Final Fantasy IV
Final Fantasy IV (Nintendo DS remake)
Final Fantasy IV: The After Years
Final Fantasy V
Final Fantasy VI
Final Fantasy VII (original in HD)
Final Fantasy VII (an enhanced remake)
Final Fantasy VIII
Final Fantasy IX
Final Fantasy X
Final Fantasy X-2
Final Fantasy XI
Final Fantasy XII
Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings
Final Fantasy XIII
Final Fantasy XIV
Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII
Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy Tactics (Original version)
Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions (Enhanced remake of the original)
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift
Final Fantasy Adventure
Final Fantasy Mystic Quest
Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light
I can see now there are many games there that some Nintendo gamers have never played, and that many fans would probably want ALL of these in the compilation, and we would just vote for them all if we could. But more realistically, getting all these into a compilation is very unlikely. So it seems to me that we have to remain reasonable with our votes. I'm thinking about having each voter being able to choose up to about seven choices or so. And then that way, if Square Enix sees the poll, they'll see what were among our top choices for considerations for the compilation, and however many of those choices they choose to include in a compilation, at least they'd choose the top ones. What do you guys think?
And if I've missed any vital titles you'd like me to add to this list, please let me know. I did leave out several smaller titles released for mobile phones and focused on the meatier titles for consoles and handhelds.
Also, since I think most people are petitioning for more the main Final Fantasy series and those games related to the main series, I left out the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles series so far. I'm thinking since we really have one shot to speak up for some of those titles in the compilation for Wii U that have never even been with a Nintendo console before, maybe the focus should be on those game closer to the main series rather than complete off-shoots like Crystal Chronicles. But I did try to include as many of the remakes of the main Final Fantasy series and main series-related Final Fantasy games as I could find.
But again, if there's any game I left out that you think is a good consideration for being on this list, let me know! I haven't made the poll yet, so give me feedback on this! :D
Our names aren't Goomba and Yoshi - they're The One Who Wrote This and Feld0. B) You were looking at the forum ranks, not the usernames.
What I was thinking was that this thread would serve as the discussion thread for the whole project, and a separate thread (with the poll on it) could be used to collect signatures for the petition. The number of replies to the latter thread would be the number of signatures.
If you want to do that, feel free to create that petition thread anytime, and I'll sticky it.
FYI, by a "dedicated section," I meant a forum category for Operation Moogle (like the ones we have for the Wii U, General Gaming, Forum Games, and so on). I'll consider creating one if this campaign takes off.
By the way, as promised, here's your shoutout on Wii U Go. :D
You know what? I hashed those out so quickly, I didn't even pay any notice to that! Sorry about that! Wasn't paying attention. I'm going to blame it on sleep deprivation (been up for over a whole day now). Hahaha! But I DO you guys from the other sites, though. Guess I just grabbed the first names I saw.
And yes, I want to do that idea you suggested. That was the idea I was trying to describe there, about keeping this one a discussion thread and having another thread exclusively for the petitioning replies. I'll start that thread, post my signature, and somehow include a note that that thread is for replies for the petition only. I'll also make that poll for the games.
Thank you for the shoutout! That will help! Now, I've got to whip up that thread and poll!
Hey, be sure to let me know when the link is out, you know, you got me hyped already xD
it's in my Signature now!
EDIT
I made a Youtube channel for Operation Moogle, if anyone wants to consider
it as the official channel, please let me know.
Channel.
Good on ya, Blade! We can so use that! Good thinking! I'll put that link in with the Operation Moogle info for sure! Now we can add YouTube video to our arsenal! Now, for a video...any ideas? I can contribute to making a little video (I've got video-editing software and image-editing software I can chip in with). Anybody else, feel free to chip in!
Hey! How do I join or... well whatever?? This is a great idea and I love FF!! :D (This is the reason I joined the forum xD)
Working on the thread where the Petition and Poll will take place right now. Such be up and running pretty soon (I'm talking within 10 minutes or so). And then I'll direct you to that thread. All the instructions will be there for your easy participation.
And thanks for your support for Operation Moogle and for joining the forum! We're a chilled bunch of folks! B)
Okay, guys, I'm now adding the final touches to writing the introductory post for the petition thread! We should be ready for business today!
Also, I'm working on three videos for our YouTube channel:
  • A "Getting Involved with Operation Moogle" video, where I'll quickly walk people through how to sign the petition and vote in the poll, and what they can do to help support Operation Moogle.
  • A montage video of the best cinematic moments of the Final Fantasy franchise, of a light tone with a light Final Fantasy theme song, to inspire people even more about the compilation (particularly those who like the lighter-toned ones).
  • A montage video of more best cinematic moments of the Final Fantasy franchise, of a darker tone with a dark Final Fantasy theme song--again, to inspire emotion for this compilation (particularly those who like the darker-toned ones).
I'm way open to suggestions about the "best cinematic moments" (or, at least, your personal favorites). I'm shooting for the first video to be about 3-4 minutes; and the montage videos to be about 2-3 minutes each.
Also, suggestions for the theme song to play for the montages are much welcomed (including alternate and remix versions of classic Final Fantasy themes)! So far, for the second darker-toned Final Fantasy montage video, I'm thinking using part of this, and for rather obvious reasons:
What do you folks think?
Also, sorry if I haven't gotten back with some of your messages to me yet. I'll attend every single one, after I make some more time to get to them. You are not ignored! I'm McLovin' this experience, and I like hearing responses from you with our Operation Moogle!
Finally, I'm about, say, 50% done with the official Operation Moogle website, so check it out so far and keep tabs on changes made periodically throughout the day. And as always, your feedback is appreciated! :D
Okay, Feld0, I'm ready to start the Petition Thread and Poll. So, I just have to start it as another thread and you'll give that thread a dedicated spot, right?
