How long have these been here?
I never noticed that before, and the warning's from ages ago.

It came with the IP.Board 3.3.0 upgrade, which I just installed about an hour ago. Previously, access to warning notes was restricted to moderators and admins only, but members can now see their own warning history.

EDIT: Oh never mind, I just noticed it was in a post I made.

Oh, it also added post count back in under the icon.
Is that temporary?

If I'm not mistaken...

1-2 Points: No Temporary Ban
3 Points: 2 Day Temporary Ban
4-6 Points: 7 Day Temporary Ban
7-9 Points: 15 Day Temporary Ban
10 Points: 30 Day Temporary Ban

According to Brian's rules, though, but I don't think warning points are all that different in here.

If they were, I doubt it would be advertised as such.
Usually bans are between administration and the member.

@Waller - we don't have set ban lengths for warning points here. We deal with each case separately. For example, if someone got two three warning points within a day of joining, there's a good chance they'd be banned, while if someone who had been here for a while and didn't regularly cause trouble reached three points, we'd probably be more forgiving.

@GeneralCraezy - There have been a few cases where members have been banned, but as Nollog said, when someone is banned we don't generally announce it.

Hmmm, will the post count be removed again and the warning points hidden?

I don't think I'll ever see a warning point unless one of the moderators sends me one right away just for the heck of it.

Anyway, do these points limit forum freedoms and powers if a certain amount is accumulated? And do they expire at a certain point? Sorry if these questions seem dumb - I never get these sorts of things ahah.

Actually, that is a pretty good question. I would ask that.

They don't look like they expire, or mean anything to limit your freedoms.
I have one from September for saying "hi dolls" on the chat, and being overly flamboyant.
I'm not allowed on the chat. Still not sure if that's permanent or not, I pm'd feld0 about that a while back, I'd like to be allowed to for e3.
On my warning point there's no expiry time.

I guess they're there as a marker to show the mods if the member's getting a lot of bad marks against them, to adjust their handling of various situations accordingly.

The way most of the internet is nowadays you wonder if it even exists anymore.
