I wasn't implying you'd lose units. If you are the master you claim you are then it shouldn't matter what mode you choose because either way all your units should live through the game. But if you really want lost units to stay lost then go Classic.

But in Casual mode you don't really play strategically.

You choose whether or not you play strategically. The mode you choose shouldn't affect that in the least bit.
