Has anyone here played through the first Devil May Cry? If so, what are some tips for the first boss? I'm dying in like two hits, and almost none of my hits are landing. Thanks!

No, that was for real... Luckily I finally got him, but god dang, that must be the hardest first boss of any game that I have ever played. ;_;
