I liked Attack on Titan because of the sense of mystery encapsulated by horror, and because I was genuinely HORRIFIED by the enemies. I found myself cheering when victory was struck, and shutting my eyes when things went south. I can't stand gore, and I watched the whole thing. I was carried in by the story, but didn't have a strong emotional connection to the characters (i.e. the above comments on unlikeableness)
