Thanks. Looks in-depth. Will it spoil anything? And in a nut shell does it matter if I play Prime first?

Spoil probably as it details the entire universe and story of Metroid Series. Prime is fine as it's contained and you have to scan everything to get the story of thew Prime series really. Prime series focuses on the Phazon.
