We have no idea of what kind of stuff you are gonna use it for... Soooooo no.

If you use programs like final cut pro, logic and stuff then buy it but if you just want like a facebook machine, then no.

If you want a low maintenance machine then ye, but if you just want a cheap machine to screw around on,  get a netbook or something. because most pc's dont last that long anyway.

It really just depends on what you are going to be using it for. I have a macbook and personally really enjoy it. If you are looking for a gaming computer, I would just recommend you get a pc.

Need I remind you about a certain discussion in a certain thread from way back?

Anyways, if you want productivity and no gaming, go for the Macbook.

I will only play Minecraft and maybe some sims 3.

Just that. But the most important is Minecraft because I run a server for it. So what do you guys think about Minecraft on Mac? Does it run good? (Planning on using GLSL Shaders if I got Macbook)

Minecraft runs pretty well on anything, so yeah. You might have a problem with GLSL shaders, since they're really resource intensive.

I can honestly say a big NO. I personally got one at university, the things last about 2 years and then all hell breaks loose, and if you don't pay for the best apple care, you're screwed.

My battery swelled up to around three inches thick causing my screen to break and crack. The charger broke and all they did was replace my battery but would charge £400 to fix the screen and recommended I just use it like a desktop and plug into an external monitor.

get a PC seriously.

Did nothing but buy a Macbook Pro. Also the battery heated up so bad that I got burns on my legs....Oh and when the screen cracked it showed it was held together with glue as if Homer Simpson had made it. All officially bought from Apple so no it wasn't just a refurbished MAC from a second hand store.

People seem to think that the glowing Apple on their macs somehow make the computer faster like it's some sort of arc reactor. Where in fact they're just overpriced laptops with a closed OS which means everything is expensive, or hacking the thing is a lot harder.

I prefer Windows and Ubuntu OS when it comes to laptops.

Then why did you make this topic? just get the mac and stop bothering us for opinions. You obviously made your mind up before you made the topic because your Uncle has one.

The title says, "Should I get Macbook Pro?", not "What do you think about this Mac?" So it's kinda misleading.

But what are the specs on the the thing?
