Android powered games console OUYA will come equipped with a number of Nintendo gaming emulators. The emulators include EMUya, a NES emulator, SuperGNES and the Mupen64Plus which are Nintendo 64 emulators. The console will also come with a couple of SNES emulators. The NES emulato has been submitted to OUYA for review and has been confirmed for launch. OUYA forum admin and owner Ed Krassenstein has also confirmed that the Mupen64Plus project will also be available at launch. These will be available via the official store.

emulators aren't illegal, the roms are.

I can see a lawsuit incoming though.

If apple can do it, Nintendo should be able to do all sorts of lawsuits.

They might stand a chance under fair competition laws, but I ain't no Apple lawyer so I dunno.

Well, it is running on Android, so it would be capable, but I don't see this going well with Nintendo.

Well.. Emulators indeed aren't illegal, but roms are. But since emulators may convince people to download (illegal) roms, they could probably sue them but idk.

No sig.

whats the point of an emulator without ROM's?

I was once known here as KillerMario, but since I really like Banjo-Kazooie, I changed my display name to show them my respect :)

The emulation is only a small part of what it can do. The majority is running legitimate Android based games. How does this have anything to do with a solid business plan anyway.

Lol yeah but even if you bought a new one every year it wouldn't even cost you 50 cents a day.

I'm aware, but when you come out saying, we can run nintendo emulators and potential others, there's an implied intent being displayed.

I'am i to believe this console is banking on it's android games and not the ability to play nintendo, sega, sony etc games? please.....

This news has only been announced recently. With Nintendo about to make its Virtual Console U push and I'm sure they will have something to say about it.
