Selling a new way of playing can take some time, and we know the power of the brands from Nintendo and we know from the fans that the majority of what will be the system sellers are not yet available. And on our side, Rayman will be one of them for sure. We really expect Rayman to be a huge system seller on the console.

We strongly believe that people have not yet realized the importance of the gameplay that this can provide, but for sure they need the good games to support the system. And they need the installed base to gain more support, which is not the case yet,

It would have sold more systems had it launched last month.

But It's a good thing they see the big picture.

Ha ha ow wow ubisoft.

Your rayman money has already gone to monster hunter, need for speed, and lego city.

And what didnt is surely going towards gtav or windwaker hd.

Vegas odds say youre screwed.

Rayman WOULD have been a system seller had it released on time as a timed exclusive to a starving wii u install base dying for ANYTHING new to play.

That ship has sailed, and in case you forgot you pissed them all the hell off when you crapped in your hand and threw it in their face.

Ubisoft appreciates all consoles, so this is no surprise. And besides, they have that Just Dance Wii money in their pockets.

Its not their fault, I mean even the creator was pissed about this decision cause some ass clown had to become a monster with this power he has, which is ordering developers to develop games with no time to see their family. I swear why are you guys still mad, I was mad until i heard what was really going on behind the scenes.

This comment will come back to bite them when they start saying "nobody buys our games on wii u" next year so they can work on 720/ps4 games.

Also, lol at expecting rayman to be a "huge system seller". Not when it'll be launching on the other consoles people own too at the same time.

You should be even more mad now that you know that.

It sucks for the dev team, but im not a charity, the publishing house screwed them in one of the sleasiest moves i have ever seen, and i am GLAD the games going to bomb so the behavior is not rewarded.

Now, what EA pulled is what I would consider the sleaziest.  They outright cancelled games that were already complete over a services negotiation.

Ubisoft still pulled a sleazy move, though, but seem to have been showing support in spades ever since.  I still plan on picking up Legends, not to reward their behavior, but because it will be a great game and a better game on Wii U than any other platform.

The team knows it to.  Rayman Legends will be lucky to sell over 250k lifetime on Wii U with the delay.  Not that it was going to sell millions, but I dont think the timed exclusivity on Wii U would have really impaced sales on the PS3/360, but it will definately lower the sales on Wii U.  They screwed themselves out of a few hundred thousand units.  Hopefully they are smart enough to price it right.  If they try to sell at the $60 price they are screwed.  This is a $40 game that might get away with a $50 starting price if they are lucky.

I do typically like Ubisoft the most out of the major third party publishers.  They seem more reasonable with their expectations than the others.  They knew they were releasing a lot of ports on a Nintendo consoles, sales were very much in line with the market they were entering.  Obviously they would like the userbase to grow as quickly as possible so that their software has more opportunities to sell, but not every console takes off like a bottle rocket.

Originally it wasn't going to be a timed exclusive, but an outright exclusive for Wii U.  It would have sold very well had it stayed that way and released on time, a time in the launch window where everyone was looking for someone to give their money to for games.

I know, but Ubisoft could kept that under wraps, and still released the PS3/360 ports down the road with no ill effect on the Wii U versions sales.  They are going to miss the boat now, a lot of gamers will hold off until it hits bargain bins because it will be lining up against quite a few exclusives at that point.

I'm still sad Mike Ancel is leaving but I don't blame him. That's beside the point though.

I think that the restrictions xbox has on timed exclusivity prevented them from releasing on Wii U first.  They should have just left the game the way it was, because many of the gameplay elements rely on the gamepad heavily and Wii U will still be the better version of the game.  I don't see it selling very well on the other consoles but I could be wrong.

I know most people are tired of ports even if some of them are of amazing games, but I would love Ubi to port FarCry 3 to Wii U, I never got chance to play that, that would be nice, on the night of the Wii U launch I had to look at posters for it in my local GAME store for a while, I have to admit I got a little jelly lmao.

the only other thing besides the rayman thing that got to me in this article is that they said that the wiiu is a "little bit" more powerful than the ps3/360. it "might" be true but they ddnt have to say that...

Just came off as conversational to me.  The Wii U is a little bit more powerful.  It isn't leaps and jumps better, but it is noticeably better.  That will be the case with all of the next gen systems.
