Not a surprise with all the indicators.
Wonder if this will indicate Ubisoft's porting process when it comes to taking it straight from PC (10 min job) like Criterion or if they're doing it the expensive way that they did with AC3 and current gen consoles with custom textures etc?
Hope the gamepad is put to decent and balanced use though

As long as you don't fail a missions if you get seen I'm game for this. I hated the Gamecube one since you failed even if you were spotted just once.

The idea would be that this won't be a port, it will be a Wii U specific version. The 10 min process you are referring to was just switching the textures from the old console ones to the PC ones, well textures and some other assets. They still improved the engine, tweaked the night time lighting, and added many more functions over and above what the console versions and even the PC version had. It wasn't a 10 min port, and I have no doubt they put quite a few resources behind it. The port took ~2-3months to complete and release.
This particular game is going to be built from the ground up for Wii U, and most likely ported to last gen consoles later, like they are doing with other games. The textures and assets will probably be common among all platforms, but will be further compressed for last gen, as well as the models, AI, Physics, etc.

Support Ubisoft and WB games guys, they deserve it.
I think Splinter Cell on Wii U will have high resolution textures, and some PC assets.

ubisoft full next gen support. only issue i see is poor income =/. we get the support which is great, but splinter cell and AC4 better be set up to sell for awhile.
but new games is always good.
feel like ninty will get 1/2 third party support and the other half filled by ninty games.

As long as Nintendo make it easy, cheap, and margin friendly for third parties, I think we'll continue to see more support.

You are thinking about it all wrong. The Wii U version will have Wii U assets and textures, whether it will match the texture resolution of the PC version remains to be seen.

I really think it's awesome how Ubisoft are supporting the Wii U, I'm not much of a Splinter Cell fan though if I do say so myself, good to see more support though

Since Stealth games are my favorite genre I will obviously be picking this up. Strangely, this is going to be my first Splinter Cell: I've always been a Metal Gear guy. Now of only MGSV comes to the system...
Don't worry I'm sure you'll be very happy with splinter cell..

No, they are really the #1 developer right now. While we wait for Nintendo annoucements, Ubi has confirmed pretty much every game in the pipeline for them is coming to Wii U.
