Nintendo has seen a 55% sales increase in Nintendo 3DS games, both through digital and physical copies, says president of Nintendo of America Reggie Fil-Aime.

When interviewed by GameIndustry International, Reggie talked about recent digital success, revealing that 11% of Nintendo's 3DS games were sold digitally. One success story is the sales of Fire Emblem: Awakening which to date has sold 240,000 copies, with one third of those digital. Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon sales were also highlighted with the total at 415,000 units. Also revealed was the percentage of 3DS owners who have connected to the internet, which currently sits at 67%.

Though not much Wii U info was given, Reggie says that "What I would say about Wii U - and what Mr. Iwata has said - is that the pace of launches has been slower than we hoped. But as we prepare for E3, the pace of launches for Wii U is going to dramatically increase."

I assumed this has been figured out already, but whatever. Nintendo is dropping all their heavy-hitters in the next 9 months. Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, Pikmin and quite some others. It's almost scary.

Some people always have a cellphone on them. I'm so awesome I always have a 3DS.

Eh, I'll wait and see what happens. Its not that I don't believe him, but Reggie plays the PR man quite a bit and even though what he says could very well be true, I'd prefer to have some concrete facts and details to go along with said PR talk.

I am so excited with all of these games coming out i literally have a text file on my desktop that i edit everytime i see a game, digital or physical coming out that i have interest in. It's the only way I won't forget about all of the games I have a liking towards.

I expect Super Smash, Mario, Zelda in multiple forms, Retro and whatever they are doing and some sort of SURPRISE. Hopefully I will see that and more.

With several of those first party titles announced during previous Nintendo Directs it wouldn't be surprising to see them fly off shelves.

Is bazooka one of those word filters?

It's going to be epic, pretty much all of Nintendo's main franchises will be there, and yes, Xenoblade II.

If by dropping you mean announcing then quite possibly. If you mean releasing then that's not going to happen.

Pikman and Zelda are being released this year. The others mention are likely. Pokemon maybe for 3DS, but I'm not sure about the Wii U. Either way, Nintendo is throwing down the gauntlet this E3.

Is IGN missing some?

Still, to go from what? 10? over the course of 6 months in America to 50-something is a large increase.

What if the leak we saw months back was true. MGS-MGS Collection FF III turned out to be Lighting Returns? I mean it is the 3rd FF game in that saga so idk. I have seen companies uses things like that for placeholders. :) I would be so happy to see that true Since I love me the FF 13 series

Does this mean that from now until E3, games are going to be released in a bigger number or those games are only coming after E3?
