Twilight Princess has been retextured with the higher resolution graphics of Skyward Sword

 

If you've ever wondered what one of the old school Legend of Zelda titles would look like with the graphics of a modern, current-gen Zelda like Skyward Sword, you may be in luck. Modders have put together a texture pack for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess with artwork and textures from Skyward Sword.

The effect is nothing short of fantastic, with bright colors, lively textures, and an interface that's fit for current-gen platforms.

Everything about the game—ranging from Link himself, to his weapons, the environments, and the creatures that roam the land have been given complete overhauls.

The only way to play the game with these high quality textures is through Dolphin. For that, you'll have to own an original copy of Twilight Princess, load into Dolphin, and install the texture mod over it—once it's out, that is. The texture mod is far from complete, but it's coming along smoothly, according to its creator, disbala.

God no, twilight princess' visuals were just WRONG

 

Just having weird anime eyes with a realistic art style is fudging awful. I really tried playing TP on my HD TV and just found it unplayable with those awful SD textures, amazing admittedly when i had a small SD TV, but very dated now. Also found it unplayable as Link's friends looked like someone's nightmare's with those weird frickin' eyes and mouths and deformed faces.

 

SS artstyle just makes TP look playable again.

 

PS: I was being sarcastic about finding a game unplayable cause of the graphics, however I must admit the textures etc do look dated on an HDTV, whereas SS was built with EDTV in mind, so apart from the jaggies it looks lovely

I agree TP graphics are dated, and right now, SS's are better. BUT, The TP graphics style is waaayyyyy better than the weird impressionist style in SS. Link looked like woman in SS, zelda looked like her face had been smashed with a hot frying pan at birth, groose wire a bit too much makeup for a tough guy, and the old woman had hair that acted like a pendulum. SS character models were WAY worse than TP IMO.

Twilight princess and skyward sword have the same resolution graphics....

Removing the original texture layers, and the shadow/lightmaps and other simple shaders that hid its incredibly low polycounts just puts tp on a cruel cruel exposed display.

I think it looks great. I didn't like the TP art style very much, I thought SS was a much more fitting art style for the Zelda series. If you look at OoT 3D it is very similar to SS.

While I think it looks nice on its own, it doesn't fit at all with the mood of the game. SS was a more upbeat Zelda title, and as such the art style reflected it with bright vibrant colors. TP on the other hand was much 'darker' and so its art style was matched with that. I think both styles have their pluses and minuses, but they both fit with their respective game.
