You might hit a Upad disconnection during the actual installation of the update rather than the download part. I encoutered two.. nollog said three... So might happen more or less or not at all...
I... ?
Error code: 199-9999
Wii U GamePad update failed.
The console will now restart.
If the problem persists etc.
Did you get that at the end?
It restarted and told me to update my upad.
The upad's update counts for 20% of the total update time according to the status bar majiggy.

Not to sound patronising but did you check the system settings to see if the update is available? Just as America and Europe seem to have the update available at around the same time.
Yeah i checked it as i read the thread title and nothing.

No, the Wii U can download it automatically.

Update just finished, the faster loading is much better! Nintendo did a great job in improving the times.

Man now that the Wii U update is here I am so stoked about tomorrow. A batch of Virtual Console games along with my copy of Fire Emblem: Awakening coming in tomorrow. Tomorrow is going to be such a great day for me.

I got it... I thought I would have the update over but when it rebooted, it did when you said and the update completed successfully. It took me 30min to download. Probably another 10-15 minutes to install.

Update did not take too long for me......glad I pay enough for 22mbs download speed.
Posted 25 April 2013 - 06:01 PM
i agree, the update really did speed things up, except from the setting menu back to the main menu
you noticed that too?
Seemed slower to me. I'd been checking for updates a bit recently ;D

Do you have to download the Virtual Console?
Posted 25 April 2013 - 06:13 PM
Seems to be a decent improvement... But yeah, going from the menu to settings and back again is still excruciatingly long... :L
I still haven't tried holding B to go to the Wii mode...
