Liar.
I take umbrage, sir!
It does on mine, not sure what's going on for yours.
This is so typical from Nintendo. It's kind of like with the Wii. Clicking on the power button on a Wiimote would either turn off the console or turn off the Wiimote itself. It depended on what Wiimote you had. I guess it depended on what was coded in the controller itself.

Did they finally make it so you don't have to have your Gamepad on the whole time you're watching Netflix?
hit the home screen, controller options, then display off, use the wii mote to control it from there I think.

The controllers should all be coded the same if they were included in the box.

The system isn't burning hot anymore, this is probably due to the disc not spinning anymore.

Then how will you get back to Netflix? Then just turn the screen off through controller options

Wiimote and pro controller can both interact with the home menu.

Netflix automatically kicks you out of any TV shows or movies when you open the home menu, it also turns off Wii Remotes. You have to use the GamePad. The only way would be to let the gamepad's battery run out or take it out of range until it turns off.Wiimote and pro controller can both interact with the home menu.

I'll have to try something later, I'm pretty sure I was able to do it before.

I heard that the force power down feature from the Wii was included in the Wii U update. Foexample, if a game freezes, you can hold down the power button for a while and the console shuts down. Anyone know if this is true?
You mean the feature I mentioned on page 1?
